~Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading and I love sharing my projects and current reads here. I would love for you to join me each month and share what you are knitting (or crocheting) and reading too! Post your photo(s) on your blog or on Instagram (#yarnalong) and then share a link below to either your blog or Instagram post!~ (This post contains affiliate links.)
I am reading a stack of books right now! I am reading The Fulfillment of All Desire for the second time (it’s been over a decade so it feels new) with friends and members of my parish. One of our priests is giving talks on it as we read. It’s such a life-changing book and I am so glad to be reading it again. I’m also reading The Sunshine Principle by a Catholic mom who I have a lot of respect for. In her book she shares what she has learned while living with and healing from autoimmune disease. Her viewpoint is very convicting and I am once again making changes. The biggest thing I have done is to get strict about bedtime. I’ve felt so much better (have been struggling for months) for the past week and that’s the only change I’ve made! Sleep matters.
I’m almost finished reading Mary Marantz’s memoir, Dirt. I “know” Mary from her photography and the online courses she and her husband teach. She mentions some of the difficult parts of her childhood in the courses I have taken so I was intrigued to read her story. She’s inspiring and honest in a way that is truly encouraging.
Finally, I’m a little more than halfway through Sense and Sensibility. Of course, I love it.
Oh, and the book in the background is one I’ve been waiting to get from the library for months! It’s called Sing a Song of Seasons and has a nature poem for every day of the year. I thought it might be one that I want to own but wanted to be sure because it is expensive. I definitely want to own it! It’s beautiful and I love “one a day” books. Mabel loves it too and is starting to understand the concept of reading just one poem each day.
I’m knitting a few things right now, but this week I have mainly been working on a Baby Vertebrae for my brother’s baby who is due early next year. Today I will divide for the sleeves! Baby knits are so fun and quick!
