~Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading and I love sharing my projects and current reads here. I would love for you to join me each month and share what you are knitting (or crocheting) and reading too! Post your photo(s) on your blog or on Instagram (#yarnalong) and then share a link below to either your blog or Instagram post!~ (this post contains affiliate links.)
I’ve been doing a lot of reading! I seem to go through phases, those that lean more heavily towards knitting, and those full of more reading. Lately, my favorite thing to do is read! I finished The Fellowship of the Ring, and then I read Lila, finishing up a couple of days ago. I did like Lila, definitely more than Home, the other book in the Gilead trilogy. It felt more hopeful. I’ve started The Two Towers, but I am wanting some Christmas reading now as well. I’ve begun The Infancy Narratives, and also ordered Christmas with Miss Read.
I’m at the point of binding off the shawl I posted about last month, and I started a new project this week, but just barely. It took Jonny and me about two hours to untangle the yarn before I could start! It’s a Knit Picks baby alpaca yarn called Andean Treasure that I’ve had for many, many years. Somehow (children must have been involved) all the little skeins got very, very tangled. The project I chose is called Heaven and Space, and I think it’s going to be really lovely. I’ve knit with this yarn before, and it is not only soft, but also wears really well. Mostly, I just love the green and I’ve been thinking about what I might knit with it for all these years!
(p.s. I posted yesterday, but the post didn’t go out to email subscribers for some reason, so assuming you get an email today, it will have two posts linked-though if you did receive an email today, you already know that-ha! Anyway, sorry to double up on you like that!)

Never EVER apologize for two blogs in one day! You could blog EVERY day and I would want more! Reading a good Christmas book: The Christmas Train by David Baldacci.

Home has kind of been a slow grow for me. I didn’t like it as much when I first finished it, but there are parts of it that have stuck with me since.

I read Lila earlier this year too and loved it (haven’t read the first two though). That green yarn is delicious!

You should read Gilead! I think you’d really like it, if you liked Lila!
