Yarn Along

~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading and I love sharing my projects and current reads here. I would love for you to join me every Wednesday to share a single photo of what you are knitting (or crocheting) and reading too! Share your photo on your blog, on Instagram (#yarnalong), or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us!~

Yarn Along-4046

Just a little bit of shawl knitting this week, but I started a new book, Searching for and Maintaining Peace: A Small Treatise on Peace of Heart.ย  It was recommended as a good book for the start of a new year.ย  I really like it so far.ย  Lots to think about and practice, but not too challenging to read, even at bedtime when I am tired.

  1. I’m reading “Sense and Sensibility” by Joanna Trollope (a remix of the original) and knitting a baby blanket right now. Love the color of your yarn.

  2. I think we could all use a small treatise to read. Whew! Your yarn is very lovely, too. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Ginny, That is a book I am going to look into ordering. Thank you for sharing and hosting this too! Love, Tonya

  4. Tanya Bailey says:

I’m doing the exact same pattern right now! I’m about 1/2 way done. I am doing it in Peppermint by Mountain Girl Yarn. I’m loving it. Such an easy knit.

  5. I dont always join, but I always spend time reading the others who join you weekly. I love it

  6. I love how your knitting and reading match :). Looking forward to seeing the finished shawl…it is a lovely color.
My last yarn along was roughly a year and a month ago. Oh how I’ve missed it so. But all this baby knitting has encouraged me in drumming the old blog back up! Thanks for your continual Wednesday inspiration!!
    Blessings,
    Kelli

  7. I was looking at that shawl a couple of weeks ago when I was hunting for one to knit and noticed some people on Ravelry had quite a peak at the top center and some had none at all. I passed it by not knowing why. I wonder, is yours straight or peaked?

  8. Fr. Jacques Phillippe’s books always come highly recommended. I’ve begun one but abandoned it. I should dive in again.

I love how your books and yarns always seem to match each other! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  9. That book is going in my cart! I could use a little help with that.

  10. Beautiful yarn. I look forward to seeing it finished. I think I may have to take a look at that book myself. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  11. The colour of your yarn is beautiful. I wonder if it’s yarn you’ve dyed yourself?

  12. I L-O-V-E that book. LOVE.

  13. Hi Ginny! Your shawl looks pretty! Take care of your sweet self. I SO needed a little nap every day when I was pregnant.

  14. I am ordering your book, sounds like something I need to read right now.

  15. Probably a silly question, but how/where do you store all your handknit shawls? Folded flat in a drawer/chest? In a closet draped on hangers? Although I think I recall you writing about having few if any closets…just wondering how those who wear (and knit) several or many shawls keep them when not in use. I still need to finish my first shawl. Wish I could wrap up in one today…well below zero windchill is no fun.

  16. love how your shawl and the book match ๐Ÿ™‚ Seeking and keeping peace is a life long goal !!

I love to hear from you!
