Yarn Along

~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs.  I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~

Happy New Year!  I hope you all have been having a great holiday season.  I am definitely looking forward to the new year.  As always I am planning far more knitting projects than I actually have time for.  Right now I am trying to knit a simple pair of fingerless gloves for a gift, and struggling to find the time to work on them.  Job is a fussy nurser much of the time, so I can’t nurse and knit very well, especially on double points.  I need to finish them in the next ten days, and hopefully that will happen.  I picked up Crossing to Safety at the library last week.  I’m a couple of chapters in and I’m enjoying it.

  1. I really enjoyed Crossing To Safety!! Such a good book!

  2. Beautiful yarn and as always, the background for your picture is wonderful. With my third baby, I finally was able to knit and nurse when she was very small, but she is too squirmy and distracted now at 8 months to even imagine the idea of managing her nursing and knitting needles! Thanks again for hosting this so faithfully, it is a bright spot in my week!

  3. I think I need a new year resolution to get something on my needles and share it here!

  4. Ginny,
I love the lighting in your picture. Good luck getting the fingerless gloves finished!

  5. Love, love love that yarn color. Happy New Year!

  6. That you can nurse and knit *at all* is miraculous to me. I’m in awe, really. I could barely manage to read a book while nursing. 🙂

  7. Happy New Year, Ginny! Crossing to Safety is one of my all-time favorites, and I hope you love it!

  8. Happy New Year Ginny! Thank you for continuing to host Yarn Along. Great yarn for the fingerless gloves.

  9. Happy New Year Ginny and thanks for hosting!

  10. Happy New Year, Ginny! Hoping you find more time for knitting as the new year progresses 🙂
Also, thanks for the reminder earlier about Tomi dePaola’s books–I checked out the first two this week at the library and hope to start reading them to my son soon–they’re delightful!

  11. Happy new year, Ginny! xo

  12. Happy new year, Ginny! Hope it’s a good one for you and yours. (Belated birthday wishes to you!) Your knitting projects always give me yarn envy–I love the colors and fibers you choose.

  13. Happy new year! I pray it is filled with many blessings for you and your family.

  14. Happy New Year, to you and your family. X
