~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~
p.s. The Yarn Along project bag was a gift from Lori!

I completely understand about the ‘readability’ of a book – the paper, type, feel, and yes, even the cover! I know, as bad as it sounds, I often pre-judge a book by its cover! 🙂
Dana says
Oooo…your book sounds really interesting! I may want to read it as well 🙂
Deborah says
A project bag! What a neat idea! I would have to use stitch markers too :o).
Blessings!

it’s just sad to me that you are not reading the great gatsby. why ginny?!? WHY?!?!?
Mari says
Cowls are so handy and fun to make!

Why even remove the markers at all? I use hash marks on paper, stitch markers, and a row counter and sometimes still have issues, lol. Sometimes if someone talks I forget if I’ve clicked the counter. Pathetic.
Wendy says
I love the colours of grey and pink together … and that little bag is perfect! Wendy
(ps I accidentally entered my name twice #96 & #97, but couldn’t find a way to delete #96 which is to my blog rather than my yarn along post … feel free to delete it for me, thanks!)

I’m knitting on a cowl of my own design, and I’m reading the Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson!

Beautiful color combination! I’m hoping to advance to lace someday.
I went back to crocheting this week and made some flower hairpins.

That Yarn Along bag is adorable! What a fun gift!
Jennifer G. Miller says
I’m doing the same approach, putting the markers for the lace portions. I just get interrupted and distracted and lose track. I thought I was the only one who did this!
Elizabeth says
love the progress on this beautiful knit! 🙂 I am still newish to knitting so I love seeing how you do it and show that it can be done 🙂

Cute project bag! Love the cowl! Do what you need to keep track!

“The Shoes of the Fisherman” and “Clowns of God” by the same author are great reads. Just don’t treat any of them as theology books and you will be fine. When I moved overseas after college, I brought along every book of his I could find. Most were not as great as these two but kept me happy with a good read.
Another two favorites are “The Robe” and “The Magnificent Obsession” by Lloyd C. Douglas . These were life inspiring books for me coming out of high school and into college.
Enjoy!

Gasp! I love that bag so much!!!
Mistea says
Lovely knitting – and yours has a purpose. Simple lace or complicated – markers can make life easier.
I agree with you about the book thing – the one I have at the moment is way too heavy for my normal night time reading! Though the content is entertaining.
Thanks for letting us gather here.

I don’t know how you manage those lace sections in a house full of little ones!! Love the color combinations. It will be glorious when done!!

Nadja says
I love the gray and coral pink of the cowl! Very nice!
And the Yarn Along bag…can you make the embroidery pattern available to us? I could manage it myself, I’m sure, but I’ll bet I’m not the only one who’d like to embellish a knitting bag with it (maybe with a side pocket for a book!)
Ginny says
I just updated the post–because I forgot to mention that the project bag was a gift from Lori (lori times five)! She talked about how she made it on her blog, a few posts back.

LOVED Devil’s Advocate — read it in high school and then again when Loyola Classics first came out. It is great … as is The Shoes of the Fisherman by Morris West (I read that in high school just before JP2 was elected pope!)
lisa says
I cannot do any sort of lace without markers. And I have to be in a quiet place where I can concentrate. Lace is hard!
Sharron says
The yarn for the shawl looks so pretty! I wanted to try to make that cowl for my mom, but I just don’t know how to do the lace without help. Maybe I can get a friend to help me.
Lovely bag!!
Casey says
Oooh, I love that cowl. Perfect for these chilly days when the beach is calling my name.
Brooke says
Maybe I am some sort of snob or something, but good book design is so important to me!
That and being able to hold in one hand (nursing purposes!).

Super cute yarn along bag:)

It was a gift! I love it!
Mamas Hands says
As much as I would love to say that my yarn is always adorably and safely packed away in a cute basket, that is…just.so.not.the.case at my house. Here is how I store my knitting: http://wegotourhandsfull.blogspot.com/2013/04/yarn-along-confession.html
Though that Yarn Along bag makes me want to do better. It is just too cute. Happy Knitting everyone!
Mamas Hands says
Oops- I think I linked up twice. My bad!

I love the Yarn Along Bag!!! I think I’ve seen that before 🙂 I love the colors of your shawl. Stitch markers are girls best friend.
karen says
Adding stitch markers sounds like a great idea, I do that if it helps remember where I am. I also use locking stitch markers to remember where the repeats of a pattern are. Love the colors of the yarn you chose.
Joy says
The cowl looks lovely. So warm and inviting. I really love that cute little Yarn Along bag. So sweet!
