Yarn Along

~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs.  I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~

I’m welcoming guest Yarn Along photographer, Larkspur today!  She took both of these photos, and is very proud of her work, as she should be.

I’ve only worked on my shawl a little bit, as I’ve been working on some other projects.  One, I’ll show you tomorrow, and one is a secret!  I am halfway through the second of three chart repeats on Clothilde though, so moving along.  I really did think I would stick with it exclusively, but other knitting projects keep popping up!

A few nights ago I pulled My Antonia off my shelf.  I’ve read it before.  Actually it was the first Willa Cather I ever read, a gift from my Stepmom.  If I had to name a favorite author it would be Willa.  I am not sure why I picked My Antonia up again though.  I am not a big re-reader.  I recently re-read Pride and Prejudice, but only because it was a book club choice, and I couldn’t remember the details.  I thought that I just wanted to read a chapter or so of My Antonia, and be reminded of why I love it.  Oh yes, I remember now, and of course now I am twelve chapters in.

Below is a linky list if you’d like to link up and join the Yarn Along.
(1) Make sure the link you submit is to the URL of your blog post or your specific Flickr photo and not your main blog URL or Flickr Photostream. Please be sure and link to your current Yarn Along post, and not a Yarn Along post from a previous week.
(2) Include a link back to this post in your blog post or on your flickr photo page so that others who may want to join the Yarn Along can find us!
(3) If you have any trouble linking up, just email me and I will help you!
You can also join the Flickr Yarn Along group to share your knitting and reading photos anytime!

  1. Also, of course I can’t think of My Antonia without thinking of Dvorak, coming to the US and writing his two “American” pieces while living in an Iowa Bohemian immigrant community.

  2. I hope you are going to read The Brothers Karamazov next.

  3. It’s been awhile since I joined in; I’ve been missing it!
I seem to have had a fall slump, too. Working my way out of it and into the new year.

  4. Great pics Lark!

  5. Oh those pesky knitting projects which keep popping up—I think most of us suffer from the same thing. I am not a big re-reader either, but recently I have had a hankering to re-read To Kill a Mockingbird. Enjoy Antonia, and a big hooray for Larkspur and her photography skills–well done!

  6. Hi, I’m linking in for the first time, I love seeing Yarn-along posts all over blogland. Thanks for hosting this. Julie

  7. Thanks for hosting the Yarn Along, Ginny! It’s always a pleasure to join everyone here.

  8. The yarn is lovely! Will be anxious to see the finished project!

  9. Trying to join in Yarn along this year! Lots of projects on the mind!

  10. Yeah for Larkspur!

  11. What a beautiful project! You’re reading an all time favorite book of mine. I love My Antonia and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do 🙂

  12. Trying the Yarn Along again to motivate me to knit, knit, knit and maybe knit a little more. I love seeing all the wonderful things other people are making.

  13. I’m excited to hear about My Antonia. I’m waiting for it to come in for me on the library holds – was just told I had to read it. 🙂

Larkspur did a beautiful job with those photos!

    • Whew! I do believe I have finally “got it right” and got it right all together. I hope you enjoy my contribution. I am ALWAYS reading something and at the same time knitting AND usually crocheting something. I knew the Yarn Along was for me but initially had trouble with the time zones and concept of linking. I think I have it now and I can’t wait to read what every else is reading and making. Thanks for hosting this fun link.
      Sharon from Australia.

  14. Holy Moley! Look at all of these contributors!!! It’s going to take me a long while to read all these blogs 🙂

  15. Great photos!
I love the colour of your shawl!

  16. Love that colour blue. will there be “fighting” over who gets to use the camera?!! I’ve just cast on the sunday sweater and so far so good!

I keep loving those wedding shots, they are sooo good!

  17. The blue yarn for your Clothilde is perfect, it is going to be lovely. I see your book is on audible.com too… I should really listen to it. I know nothing of American migration, and have not even heard of Willa Cather. So much left to learn, what a joy!

  18. Excellent photographs Larkspur! Keep up the good work.

  19. oh larkspur! i’m so proud of you!
