I only made a wee bit of progress on Beatix’s Bulle this week. My focus was on finishing Keats’ vest. I also bought some Berocco Vintage at my local yarn store today, planning to cast on for a Sunday Sweater sample for the shop. I let the owner of the shop choose both the yarn and the color. It’s a heathered pinky-purpley color. I am not sure when I will actually get around to knitting it!
I am about halfway through Washington Square. It’s an easy, pleasant read. I have also been pouring through beekeeping books this week, especially The Beekeeper’s Handbook.
I’m in, though I’m not sure it will speed up my knitting….

you have inspired me to pick up some classics. full disclosure i have like 8 books to read before i get to them, but they’re there. wuthering heights and tale of two cities. i have somehow never read either.
i’m so interested to hear what you figure out (if anything) about the bees. i hear you, it must be so disheartening to lose a hive and really not know why–if you knew, you could at least work on fixing that specific issue. how could those bees not have wanted to live at your beautiful homestead?!!

I loOOove the Berroco yarns. I hope you post about your experience with your new yarn. I wish I could join in Yarn Wednesday but until this house is sold and us moved, I don’t anticipate having time to work on my blog. So disappointing. I love your Sunday Sweater pattern; if I hadn’t already chosen the pattern & yarn for Julia’s birthday sweater this year, I’d be making one right now. I think it might make a nice spring sweater for her; I’ll have to get started on that after Christmas… xo

I’ve one sleeve and the neckband left to knit on your Sunday Sweater, and the Cestari yarn I am using is a heathered pinkish-purplish color. It looks really nice!
Do you think the bee problem could be Colony Collapse Disorder? I saw a Netflix on that, and what you describe, with the bees just disappearing, sounds hauntingly familiar. Here is an article I came across just the other day:

So much knitting, so little time! Always the way. But I’m sure the urge will strike you at some point, generally when you are supposed to be doings something else, and you will have that lovely purple yarn knitted up in no time.

All the yarn is beautiful! I am using Berroco Vintage to knit a sweater right now. I like it. Henry James is one of my favorite authors. I have yet to read Washington Square but I think I will check it out next time I am at the library.
Am intrigued that you are finding Henry James “easy and pleasant” – I’ve never heard anyone associate those words with his novels before. Will have to check out Washington Square sometime! I loved your post yesterday on Keats’ vest!

I wanted to thank you for posting about the Milo in a larger size, Ginny. I’ve knit up three for my little ones and my mother has decided that she wants to knit herself one. Since she is a small lady, I think that she’ll probably make one just like the one that you made Keats!

How exciting to have your sweater hanging in the LYS. Ginny, it is a great sweater design and I just love it.
I was able to see Emerson this past weekend and enjoyed watching her run around playing in her sweater, it looked just darling!
