Yarn Along

~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs.  I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~

I took this photo and uploaded it on Sunday evening and created a Yarn Along post, scheduling it for Wednesday because part of hurricane preparation is creating a Yarn Along post!  Of course, we never lost power and my efforts didn’t end up being necessary. This week (and in the coming weeks I suspect) I am working on a knitting project for a friend, and Beatrix’s Bulle. I have made a little more progress since taking the photo, and have divided for the sleeves on the Bulle.

I finished reading Washington Square.  I am looking forward to discussing the characters with my book club!  I am not sure what I am going to read next.  I have still been reading The Beekeeper’s Handbook when I have the chance. I snapped my photo next to a stack of the boys’ library books.  Seth is re-reading The Great Brain books, and The Mad Scientists’ Club series.  These are some of his favorite books.

Below is a linky list if you’d like to link up and join the Yarn Along.
(1) Make sure the link you submit is to the URL of your blog post or your specific Flickr photo and not your main blog URL or Flickr Photostream. Please be sure and link to your current Yarn Along post, and not a Yarn Along post from a previous week.
(2) Include a link back to this post in your blog post or on your flickr photo page so that others who may want to join the Yarn Along can find us!
(3) If you have any trouble linking up, just email me and I will help you!
You can also join the Flickr Yarn Along group to share your knitting and reading photos anytime!

  1. Hello! I want to be with you :о)

  2. Yummy mad tosh! I’m glad you didn’t lose power – been thinking about it!

  3. So glad to hear you are all safe and sound! Love your yarn color – it’s like all of autumn wrapped up in one sweater.

  4. Good to here that you didn’t get touched by Sandy 🙂 I’m joining again this week just to say goodbye for two more weeks! Have a good and save time until then.

  5. Love the colors of your yarn, it’s really beautiful ! I can not wait to see the finish project !

  6. Baby booties for the Yarn Along follow 🙂

  7. I am glad that you and your family are safe!

  8. I’m glad the hurricane didn’t hit you too hard. We managed OK up in Massachusetts too. Happy knitting!

  9. So excited to be in your Yarn Along for the first time. Thanks Ginny! 🙂

  10. Busy hands. Glad you weathered the storm and that you had no loss of power.

  11. Oh! I had forgotten about The Great Brain! Going on next week’s library pick-up list for sure.

  12. The colors are gorgeous.
Glad your family is well after the hurricane.

  13. I’d like the Bulle in adult size for me… not that I need another project right now

  14. It was smart to be prepared for possible power outage. Tried as we did, we still weren’t as prepared to lose power. Luckily we were only out for 36 hours, so it wasn’t too awful. Glad you did well in the storm!

  15. The Great Brain books were my oldest son’s favorites (his name is Seth, too!).

I’m so happy that your family is safe and sound after the hurricane.

  16. Love the Bulle and the color is gorgeous!

  17. Good to hear all is well

  18. Every time I see your Bulle, I have to comment on the lovely colors! They are perfect for fall!!

  19. Always good to be prepared! Glad you are all safe!

  20. Love the Bulle! That is such a cute pattern and I just love your yarn. So cozy looking.

  21. Oh, how I loved the Great Brain books when I was a kid! They were some of my favorites. I will try to get a photo of my own knitting and reading and join up later today. 🙂

  22. Glad to hear all is well where you are.

  23. I’m still in love with that colorway for the Bulle!
I finished Gemma’s Sunday Sweater, and if I didn’t have a long queue of Christmas knitting to get to, I would cast on another right now (I already have the yarn picked out for the next one!)
I will have to look into those books of Seth’s…they look like something Sebastian would really love.

  24. The Bulle is looking really nice. I really love that colorway.

  25. What beautiful autumn colors…

  26. Ohh, love the colour of your yarn. So happy for you that you didn’t loose power. Jacinta

  27. What a beautiful teal color you are using for your friend’s birthday gift.
All of my boys love the Great Brain books too, but I haven’t heard of
the Mad Scientist’s Club books, guess I will have to check them out
    for grandchildren now!

  28. The color of that cowl is downright juicy.

  29. Oh, I do love the color of the cowl you’re working on and the Bulle is absolutely perfect for remembering our gorgeous Fall colors of a week ago. With the high winds of Sandy, we don’t have too many leaves left on the trees!

Hugs and glad to hear y’all survived!

  30. I’m so glad to hear all is well with you!
