~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~
The stack of five or more books that I am somehow reading now is sure evidence that the past week has been a bit intense schedule wise. My focus is all over the place. I am still reading At Knit’s End in bits and pieces, which I am sure is how it’s meant to be read. I read an unschooling book that I picked up from the library in a little over an hour one evening after putting Silas to bed. I wasn’t particularly inspired by it. I don’t think I am part of the audience that the book was targeting. I am still reading Project Based Homeschooling (that one is good.) And finally I bought a copy of How to Raise Good Catholic Children last week, and after reading the first chapter, I love it.
I am almost finished with the first sleeve of Beatrix’s orange Sunday sweater. Hopefully the sweater will be finished in a few more days. To be honest, I don’t like the color. This shade of orange isn’t my favorite, and while it doesn’t show up in the photograph there are murky brownish areas that just aren’t pretty. But, we dyed this yarn ourselves, Beatrix wanted a sweater in it, and I needed to knit my pattern one more time. Hopefully I can make the pattern available to you all very soon.
One last little thing, in case you missed the post yesterday and like to cross stitch: together with a friend I am hosting a Winterwoods ABCs cross stitch sampler stitch along. Details are in this post.

For a minute I read the title of your top book as Mediations for women who knit too much! I thought wow does it get that bad!

I usually read few books at the same time 🙂
The sunday sweater looks nice and the color is great for fall.

Oh, I love the colour. Burnt orange is JUST the colour you want to be knitting with getting into early autumn, it’s beautiful.

A bit late to the party 🙂 While the yarn might not be a favourite, it could look really good once it is worn. Fingers crossed that this is the case. It look lovely and cosy. Besides, if it really isn’t popular you can always have a go at dying a whole garment? I’d really like to hear an excerpt from ‘At Knit’s End’ it sounds fab but Ive never even heard of it before now. 🙂

I truly love the shade of the yarn you are using, so pretty and it reminds me that fall will soon be here. I’m still working on a lovely mystery KAL by Erica Jackofsky and currently reading Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins. Happy Knitting 🙂

That orange looks great on the computer, at least! I tried to buy orange yarn yesterday to make a pumpkin hat and the yarn store was all out! Oh, and I finished Kristen Lavransdatter! Thank you SO much. It was a joy to read and my mind is still playing with it. I’ve already lent it out to another friend but I know this will be a book that I read again! I see so much of myself in her.

That orange looks so festive and harvesty! I am always afraid to make orange-anything for anyone, it seems like a color you have to be careful with, but I think you’ve inspired me!

I guess I will have to get Project Based Homeschooling, I have heard so many wonderful things through different blogs. And I love the colour of that yarn 🙂

That’s so neat that you and your daughter dyed the yarn together. What a wonderful way to get her interested in all aspects of the craft!
I’m hoping to find some books at my local library about homeschooling and unschooling. Maybe I’ll look for the one you’re reading, “Project Based Homeschooling”.

Oh, my, I LOVE that yarn, and that sweater. Lovely, lovely. At Knit’s End is so fun–I may just have to pull it off my shelf and read it again. Have you seen/heard Stephanie speak in public? She’s so entertaining and inspiring. Thanks again for the fun shared blog experience.
