Hello, and thanks for subscribing to Small Things! In the future, you will simply receive my posts in your inbox, but in case you’re new, I thought I might “show you around!”
My name is Ginny, and I am a homeschooling, work at home mama to 8 kids. We live on a homestead in Virginia along with goats, chickens, and honeybees. I keep a little shop where I sell naturally dyed playsilks, scarves, and yarn. I make goat milk soap from our goat’s milk as well! You can read more about me (and my family) here, and find answers to frequently asked questions here.
I write about all sorts of things, but I think that you’ll find a common thread throughout my posts. No matter how crummy the day might have gone, how behind I’ve fallen with the housework, or how many times my kids track mud through the house, life really is beautiful. When I try, and I do, I can always find something that makes me glad to be here. That is what I try to share on Small Things, mainly through my photographs, with a few words to round out my thoughts. I love the outdoors and share lots of nature heavy photos and every now and then you might catch a glimpse of the typically messy state of our house.
While most of my posts focus on the daily ins and outs of our somewhat chaotic life, sometimes I share projects and ideas. In case you’re looking for something specific, check out the following pages:
Tutorials and Ideas (I was younger and clearly had more energy when I wrote those posts.)
Crafts for kids (My kids love to make stuff, but I can’t promise you it’s all pretty or Pinterest-worthy!)
Homeschooling (Yes, I’m crazy.)
Home Improvement (We lived in a 200 yr old, 1500 square ft. farmhouse for nearly 15 yrs. We were bursting at the seams and moved to our current (larger) home in late 2016.)
Finished Knitting Projects (I love to knit and would love to share the details of all my finished knits with you!)
Yarn Along This is a monthly link-up where we share what we are knitting and reading. If you’re a knitter you should join us! If not, you might get an idea for your next read!
Sewing (For a few years I spent a lot of time with my sewing machine. I still pull it out every now and then.)
Okay, I think that’s it, though I’m sure there’s something I’ve forgotten…
If you stick around, eventually it will come to me…
Thanks for being here!
Love,
Ginny
