Last week Keats was mowing the grass and uncovered a nest of brand new baby rabbits. This is the second nest we’ve discovered this spring, and sadly, Weasel also found the last one. None of those babies survived his curiosity. There were many tears shed over those babies and Weasel was not a popular dog with my girls for a few days. This new nest is out of his territory, and we have high hopes for these babies. I am able to peek in the nest without disturbing them and plan to document their growth here. I wish we had a video camera we could set up to capture mama bunny. We haven’t seen her at all yet, but know she visits!
We are now through both the spring concert that Keats and Larkspur performed in and our homeschool co-op’s production of Guys and Dolls. Last week was dominated by rehearsals followed by the performance on Saturday. The kids were amazing and the show was hilarious. Between dress rehearsal night and the performance the following day, I took around 3000 photographs. My friend Eve laughed that looking through the 600 photos I ended up keeping from performance night was like looking through one of those flip books. I couldn’t help but take so many. I used my big zoom lens the whole time and got quite the workout! I was sore and exhausted afterward!
Here are a few…
Okay, more than a few, but I’ll spare you from the entire 600. You’ll notice that Keats was NOT excited about this. Gabe was also way outside his comfort zone having never done any acting or singing, but he did great and had such a good attitude about the whole thing. The first two photos were taken on dress rehearsal day, the rest are from the show.
