We are having an awfully busy spring!
Pippi, or “Pip” for short is fitting in quite nicely here. I’m so happy we brought her home! Having a team of people to help take care of her sure does make this puppy thing easier. Of course, the challenge is working to teach her not to bite and chew everything and everybody. Mabel loves her until she gets feisty and starts trying to turn her into a chew toy.
A second swarm of bees moved into one of our empty hives. This time we think it originated from our own hive, but we haven’t had a chance to investigate yet. We’re just happy the swarm didn’t land thirty feet up in a tree! I thought we might be getting out of beekeeping, but here we are back up to three hives.
I don’t know if I mentioned it, but baseball season is here, and Jonny is head coach! He convinced our county to turn the all-star rec team into a showcase team. This is a big commitment, and I am doing my best not to get resentful of the time Jonny, Keats, and Gabe are away. I miss weekends, but it’s not forever, right?
I spent the past week dyeing a small batch (I only have 28 skeins) of very special yarn. I’m hoping to get in my shop on Friday morning at 11 a.m. ET along with a handful of scarves in some new colors that I’m excited about. I’ll post more details on the yarn on Friday morning, along with photos of the flock of sheep that provided the wool! This yarn is very local to me, so I’m pretty pleased to be sharing it. I can’t wait to show you more!
