Little Meadows will be updated Friday, November 2, at 10 a.m. ET. I have lots of naturally dyed yarn, head scarves, about a dozen neck scarves, and a few very special handmade swaddling blankets. I have dyed almost all of the playsilks I plan to for this year (they are already listed in the shop), and I encourage you to buy them soon if you want them for Christmas! I’ve also listed two new batches of goat’s milk soap in soft citrus and spearmint patchouli (my favorite!)
I’m so pleased with the large neck scarves. I dyed one to keep for myself, and I’ve been wearing it constantly. I love it! It’s soft and provides just the right amount of warmth on cool days. It’s casual and easy to wear. I’d love to make these a staple in my shop.
As far as the swaddling blankets go, those that I am listing are not the same as the ones I sold previously. I bought the previous ones already made, but these I sewed myself from organic double cotton gauze. This fabric has more crinkle and stretch than the other, and it has a more luxurious feel in general. Those swaddles were great, and perhaps more of a “workhorse” blanket which most definitely has it’s place, while these are softer, finer, and larger. I think they are really special. They started out as an experiment when I wanted to create a gift for a friend’s first baby, and those friends loved it so much they requested a couple more! So, I decided to make a few for my shop as well. They are expensive, partly because they require much more time to create, but also because the fabric itself is more expensive. But, I think if you are looking for a unique baby gift, or just something special for a new baby, these might be perfect! I may continue to offer them on a limited basis in the future.
I’ve had quite a few inquiries about Jonny’s little bird shawl pins recently, and Jonny has made a batch of them for this update. I’m not sure if there will be anymore this year. There might be, but so much is up in the air with him right now! I hope that you are able to get one tomorrow if you’ve been wanting one.
There are a few skeins of the silk/wool fingering weight wool left in the shop from last update, but all the newly listed yarns this go around are my usual bases. It felt good to work with them again, like old friends. 🙂
Thank you all, and please let me know if you have any questions! My plan is to try to stay on top of orders and get everything packaged up this weekend.
