~Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading and I love sharing my projects and current reads here. I would love for you to join me each month and share what you are knitting (or crocheting) and reading too! Post your photo(s) on your blog or on Instagram (#yarnalong) and then share a link below to either your blog or Instagram post!~ (this post contains affiliate links.)
Hello, and welcome back to the Yarn Along! Yarn Along is a monthly link-up beginning the first Wednesday of each month. Today’s link-up will remain open until the next one begins on March 7th. Out of consideration for others, please limit your links to posts that are truly in the spirit of the Yarn Along, sharing your current projects and what you are reading. Thanks for being here!
After I finished my Andrea’s Shawl I decided to work on some long unfinished projects. First I knit the second of a pair of legwarmers I started back in 2015. My only excuse for not finishing sooner is that Mabel messed up my first go of the second one and it took a long time to revisit it. I wear legwarmers under my pants all winter, so these are very practical for me!
Next I picked up the Flora Cardi that I started shortly before Mabel was born. I think it’s going to be really beautiful and I am hoping to stick with it and finish it before Easter.
My girls and I are teaming up on a little doll dress for a friend. I started it in some of my logwood dyed yarn and once I got past the tricky bits, I passed it on to Larkspur and Beatrix to finish up. This pattern is intended for Alicia’s softies, but we have found that it fits Huggable Huggums (12 inch) dolls as well.
I’m slowly reading through the winter essays in Great Possessions, and I’m finally on the last in the Anne books, Rilla of Ingleside, though I haven’t read much yet. My friend Jaime says it’s her favorite one, so I am excited to get further in. Jaime is also the one who recommended Gone Away Lake, my current read aloud with Lark and Bea. She was so right, it’s a good one!
