Mabel has fallen in love with Gus, the bunny. I mentioned on Instagram, that unfortunately, I don’t think the feeling is mutual. He’s a sweet, tolerant bunny, though, and she’s does a good job of being gentle. So maybe in time, his love will grow…
Yesterday it was 80 degrees here! I’ve been nearly desperate for spring to arrive, but joked with Jonny that no matter how much I long for the next season, when the weather begins to shift I start to feel a little out of sorts. To combat those feelings, I’ve been taking lots of walks and starting new projects. I’m just not good at sitting still! I’ve been trying to be somewhat monogamous with my knitting, really wanting to finish this cardigan by Easter, but I fell off the wagon last weekend. I cast on another Antarktis shawl (this will be my third time knitting that pattern) and another Silverfox Bonnet for Mabel, because we still have some cool days ahead of us, and she needs one in a springy blue green. I’m also trying to fit cross stitching into my mornings. My eyes aren’t all that cooperative, but I have an appointment to hopefully get some long needed glasses in a couple of weeks. The receptionist laughed when I told her I needed an eye exam because I am struggling with my cross stitch project. I have my priorities!

Ginny I have been reading your blog for years and absolutely love it! You brighten my day and I love all the knitting and sewing you do for your kids!! I am a Christian homeschooling mom of 8. I have 4 biological and 4 adopted children. I remember a few years back you made the sweetest bunnies for your girls from a kit I think. I have 6 girls and would love to make some for my girls. Do you remember where you bought the kit online? Thanks in advance! Jill Anderson

Hello Ginny…. I put ‘knitting blogs’ into a search engine and yours was top of the list. Now that may have been accidental, but let’s just say I never got to see any of the others. I just LOVE yours….. have been in the doldrums with my knitting, which was why I looked for the blogs in the first place, unable to decide what to do next. Nobody to knit for – my friends are drowning under the weight of handmade cushions, felt pictures, knitted asymetrical scarves, socks….. and the charity shop is full of baby blankets, tea cosies, fingerless gloves……
So here I am, loving your blog, looking forward to getting inspiration for the itching-to-knit hands, new book recommendations (I read lots), maybe making a new friend or two along the way, who knows?
So from cold and frosty Norfolk in East Anglia in England, thanks for a lovely read. At my age, I am well into the appreciation of small things, and have lots of time to do lovely things.

What a sweetheart Mabel is, love the one with the thumb in the mouth, reminds me of my daughter at that age. Got my order in for dishclothes. Love those!

I’m excited to see your Flora shawl finished. I’m madly trying to finish Alicia’s winter cross stitch before the spring one comes out. I’m hoping to at least be only one season behind in stitching them!

In order of importance:
1) MABEL KISSING GUS. That is the cutest thing ever. I need to bookmark this post so when I’m having a grumpy day I can see that. ๐
2) Your yarns are just exquisite! The colors!
3) I wish I could do counted cross-stitch. I am terrible at it, sadly.
4) Oooh dishcloths! Yay! I need some that are good for wiping down and scrubbing. I have “towels”, but those are not really what I need, you know? They look pretty on the stove and I can wipe my hands on them. ๐
