~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading and I love sharing my projects and current reads here. I would love for you to join me every Wednesday to share a single photo of what you are knitting (or crocheting) and reading too! Share your photo on your blog, on Instagram (#yarnalong), or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us!~

I finished The Diary of Country Priest! It feels like an accomplishment, because I have attempted to read it several times in the past and failed. I’m really glad I saw it through this time. A friend told me it would pick up and be easier to read after the 100 page mark (or maybe a bit before) and she was right. I actually really loved it, and it made for a great book group discussion. Now I am reading The Jesuit Guide to (Almost) Everything. Don’t we all need a spirituality for “real life”? I do. James Martin is very readable, so I hope to stick with this one.
I finally pulled my Mirry Dancers out of hibernation. Not much progress yet, but getting the second one cast on is a really good start!

I wonder if you ended up finishing/liking the James Martin book. I have been trying to read it since you suggested it (I even bought it, I liked it so much, plus I was hogging the library’s only copy!) Finding time for reading anything more involved than a recipe is tough so I haven’t made it far. I like his attitude, his writing style, and his balance of being entertaining yet also serious and a mentor. Suggestions on other similar authors are welcome…

I love James Martin and Jesuit’s Guide is one of my favourite books. I hope you enjoy. He also wrote a wonderful book called Between Heaven and Mirth that’s worth checking out.
