~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading and I love sharing my projects and current reads here. I would love for you to join me every Wednesday to share a single photo of what you are knitting (or crocheting) and reading too! Share your photo on your blog, on Instagram (#yarnalong), or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us!~

When I realized that my colors didn’t work well for colorwork on Silas’ hat, I set it aside and thought about ripping it back and finding some bright white yarn for the “snowflakes.” I came to the conclusion that it’s better just to finish it. Silas doesn’t mind that the colorwork doesn’t stand out, and the truth is that this hat will just get lost. So, I’m going to finish it and move on. Better colorwork next time!
I’m creeping along in The Diary of Country Priest, and reading Root Cause as well. I started out reading Root Cause really quickly, but started to get overwhelmed with all the information, so I am moving more slowly now.

I think that yarn really wanted to be a hat just as you created it. ! !Love it.
I have Hashimoto’s . IT is the most commmon form you know. I find endocrinology challenging as a nurse and a patient! I find endocrinologists extremely thorough and kind as a group.

I finished Rumer Godden’s In This House of Brede. Loved it … hmm, choices, choices from the library.

Hi Ginny,
Love the hat! A cousin of mine told me once that if you, the knitter, don’t like what you have knit, someone else will. I call the things I’m not wild about, perfect gifts. Someone see it and says that’s beautiful, and I gift right then. Boys are so easy. They just need a hat, and Sills will love it because you made it.
Hope you are feeling better, daily!

I love the subtle color work! And I need t re-read Root Cause.

I often like when the colorwork is more muted. I think it is best to absorb the info of Root Cause bit by bit.

I know how overwhelming new diet info is; it’s OK to go slow. I agree that the hat is made with love and that’s more important!

Love the blue you are using on that hat, and yeah, kids rarely care as much as we do about the fine details:) They just want the finished object!! The Root Causes looks like a book I might want to pick up. I had my right thyroid removed a couple months ago, and was told I tested positive for Hashimoto’s. I’m on meds now since I only have one functioning side, but anything that can help is good:)

Six years ago I started with a kinesiologist and my thyroid is completely healed and I take no meds. I had taken enough thyroid to completely replace the thyroid function for many years and been on meds for 27 years total. There is something behind the thyroid not functioning and it is generally infection. All that to say that I am thankful to be healed and not have to be constantly going to the doc to check my levels, etc. I hope you find the answer.

It’s more about the love put into the hat ? then the color work. I am trying to appreciate the choice of spending time doing a loving craft and less time focusing on the perfection of it. I think the hat will serve its purpose and will remind Silas how much he means to his Mom.

I like the subtle colours of the hat.

I like the color combo of Silas’s hat! I am reading a food book too that is quite dense reading so I read a bit here and there.
