Yarn Along

~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading and I love sharing my projects and current reads here. I would love for you to join me every Wednesday to share a single photo of what you are knitting (or crocheting) and reading too! Share your photo on your blog, on Instagram (#yarnalong), or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us!~

I am enjoying Gilead more than I have any book in a long time.

I pulled out my Stepping Stones sock to work on this week…sure wish I was on the second sock, rather than the first! I think these socks will be really cozy if I ever finish them.

I love the sound of that book. While I had a wee break from my ‘bussy-ness’ after Christmas, I took the opportunity
to look through the books you recommend and I ended up pinning a whole bunch of them. I am a Christian ( but just not Catholic), yet I have always enjoyed and been inspired by books about Saints; especially woman. Thank you for sharing your ideas, life & things that inspire with us all.

Giliad has been recommended to me by so many people, over decades — I have a feeling that this will be the year that I finally read it! I appreciate your recommendation.

Ginny, I tried to delete my previous link/photo but was not able to – from coffee thyme in the big woods. That WordPress blog crashed and I was unable to fix it so I just went home to blogger. Please feel free to delete that one. Sorry for the bother.

Ginny, do you knit socks for Jonny? If so, can you suggest a pattern? I want to knit myself a pair of over-the-calf tube socks but I haven’t come across a pattern yet on the ‘net. Help! Thank you in advance. Richard.

Ginny, I had asked you earlier if you knit any socks for Jonny and did you have a pattern in mind for tube socks; well, completely by accident, I found this website and low and behold, there was a pattern for tube socks! Take a look if you don’t already have this pattern:

But don’t you feel satisfied when you finish that second sock? I always have a pr. going on size 1 needles and fine yarn. Have considered learning some of the faster methods of two -at-a time but have made so many prs. I don’t have to think what my hands are doing.

It’s gotten really, really cold here today. Those socks look absolutely perfect for a day like today!

Lovely sock! I have two partially done with yarn that I dyed myself, I am hoping that I’ll get them done one day! One had been completed… but then I decided that the toes were too tight, so I have cut the toe off and need to pick up stitches and finish again.

I have real problem finishing the second sock & my Christmas tree is decorated with far too many lonely socks as a result (& baby mittens). Happy Belated Birthday, Ginny! xx

Considering that I’m having a problem finishing the first one (I had planned for these to be my “hospital socks” when I had Mabel) I think I’m in trouble!

Gosh, I love your sock! Both the pattern and the yarn.
