Yarn Along

~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading and I love sharing my projects and current reads here. I would love for you to join me every Wednesday to share a single photo of what you are knitting (or crocheting) and reading too! Share your photo on your blog, on Instagram (#yarnalong), or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us!~

Today is Beatrix’s birthday! And, I have knit about an inch and a half of the first sleeve on her sweater. Between moving and a baby who goes to bed around midnight every night (but then sleeps for 6 to 8 hours, so I can’t complain) I just haven’t had time to knit. For awhile there I could knit while Mabel was nursing, but now she grabs it. With a sigh Beatrix said, “Maybe it’ll be done by Christmas.” It better be. I can’t be knitting orange sleeves for the rest of my life.

Reading hasn’t been happening either. I finished looking through People Knitting, just the best sort of book for me right now, mainly pictures! I also started Mara, Daughter of the Nile for the class I teach at our homeschooling co op. I’m so tired though, that even juvenile literature is too hard for me right now!

What are you guys working on? I know there must be lots of gift knitting going on!

Happy birthday to Beatrix!!! My younger daughter turned nine today! It is crazy to me how fast the time goes. I so vividly remember when she was a newborn. Good luck with the sleeves….and all the moving!

Happy Birthday to Beatrix! It’s also the feast day of St. Margaret of Scotland (queen and mother of eight) and St. Gertrude the Great (Benedictine nun, mystic and theologian). May these holy women intercede for Beatrix today.

Hi Ginny! My daughters all loved Mara, Daughter of the Nile. Loved it.
I have been knitting this owl vest for weeks. I keep frogging it and the mental pile of knitting projects for Christmas gets ever higher…

I’m *almost* certain you won’t be knitting orange sleeves for the rest of your life. Ha! It’s going to be one lovely jumper.

If it’s any comfort, the mental image of you knitting orange sleeves for the rest of your life made me giggle.

Hugs and happy for your day!
