Today’s giveaway is from Children’s Wallet Cards, one of my favorite resources for little ones. I pre-ordered the new Emotions deck many weeks ago, and was thrilled when it arrived yesterday! I’ll be carrying it to a baseball tournament this weekend, to help entertain my little boys. Marie-Claire is here today to introduce this fantastic new deck!
In her words:
Our much-anticipated Children’s Emotions Wallet Card deck is finally here. This gorgeous new deck features 36 photographs and 36 illustrations of children’s faces, each with a unique emotion. A indispensable new tool for beginning your family’s social-emotional learning together.
Not only does this deck introduce children to the wide range of human emotions, it helps start discussions about our children’s feelings, our feelings as parents and the feelings of others. The most extraordinary component to this deck is the inclusion that emotions have purpose, they are signals of an opportunity or a threat.
We’ve colored coded and organized the 36 cards to correspond to psychologist Robert Plutchik’s “Wheel of Emotions”, which categorizes emotions into eight categories: joy, trust, surprise, sadness, disgust, anger and anticipation. Robert Plutchik’s theory (in a nutshell) is that there are no bad or good emotions, they all serve a valuable purpose in our relations with others. They are not labeled “sad” or “happy” outright, they are simply numbered.
Our vast collection of companion resource sheets provide activity ideas, reference tools, conversation ideas, drawing prompts and even scenarios for discussion. Our resource area is found at www.YouGuysAreSoAwesome.com
These cards can be used as a learning tool in homes, schools and therapy centers. Families may also use them in a less structured capacity, where individual play is allowed to dictate the cards’ functions.

My son is a teacher of Spanish language. He is doing an EMOTIONS segment now. Funny thing is his Catholic
school children cannot come up with SHAME stories. They confuse embarassign stituations as shameful.
I’d love to give the deck to him for class. Great give away

I’m trying to leave a message for your post from September 4th. I have always found that a Manipulative Osteopath has been very helpful for sore bodies. My DO seems to be able to help people when others can’t. He is very well respected and teaches in England and France. If you are interested let me know and he may have a referral for someone near you.
