Summer’s Peak

I hope you all had a great weekend!  We’re trying to recover from an out of town baseball tournament.  The boys’ team won their last tournament of the season, their last tournament with this team with the exception of Cooperstown in late August.  The house is a wreck and we’re all worn out from the heat.  This feels like the peak of summer.

Ginny, what is the pattern that Larkspur’s hat is made from? I’m guessing you blogged about it at some point. Is it the Jane hat? Thanks!

Once again, wonderful photos of your beautiful family! Congratulate your boys for a well-deserved tournament win. It is sweltering here in Charlotte, North Carolina also. Thanks for the heads-up on the Amaranth companion planting for the cucumbers; don’t think I have ever heard of that before. I do not care for dill pickles but, I could eat my weight in sweet ones. Good luck with the house-cleaning; I only really concentrate on my kitchen and the bathroom most of the time.

    Hi Ginny,

I’ve followed your blog off and on for a couple of years now, and I just had to write and say what a lovely lovely picture of Beatrice that is – I wish I could get any of my girls to smile so genuinely with love when I hold a camera to them, rather than the silly simpering and gurning they actually do…

    Much fondness,
    Chloe x

        After seeing this today….. http://frontierdreams.blogspot.com/2015/07/keep-calm-craft-on-crafting-on_21.html

I think Ginny was also a test knitter for this pattern.

It does look very similar to the Jane hat. The garter stitch rim, gives it away that it isn’t a “Jane”.

Oh sweet Job – those haircut pictures! Am I starting to see a profile likeness between him and Silas? Ginny, you look like a hairdressing pro and Gabe, quite the assistant! Well done on the tournament win – great end to the season.

Congrats on the win! How exciting. Yes, being out in this heat is exhausting. You just feel all rung out. Hope you can spend time time inside resting and then… tackling the house. 😀 Have a great week Ginny!

Sounds like our weekend: crazy hot weather, with a horse show, birthday, and a trip to drop kids off at camp. My youngest and I are having a house cleaning party today!

Looks like a fun weekend! Are the sharks teeth a one day find? Looking for someplace to take my daughter to hunt. We love shark tooth and fossil hunting.

I think while the house is a mess you will not look back and regret it! God bless! it does feel like the peak of summer – went swimming this morning, so hot out and the water was quite warm.
