Yarn Along

~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading and I love sharing my projects and current reads here. I would love for you to join me every Wednesday to share a single photo of what you are knitting (or crocheting) and reading too! Share your photo on your blog, on Instagram (#yarnalong), or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~

So far I am keeping up with my Tales from the Isle of Purbeck MKAL! This is one of my favorite projects ever. I am enjoying it so much!

I started reading The Journey of Our Love this week, the very beautiful letters of Saint Gianna Beretta and Pietro Molla.

p.s. Thank you all so much for your donations in the shawl raffle for Iraqi refugees! So far about $2500 dollars has been raised (we’re halfway to my goal!), and I am so grateful to you all for your support! There is still plenty of time to enter, so please go check out all the beautiful shawls that are being raffled for the cause!

I’m sooo looking forward to your homeschooling posts! I have learned so much from you, thank you for sharing! I would also love to read how you do it (for example Right start math, which we enjoy, thank you for recomending it!) with more than one child?

I love your blog and love following people on the yarn along. Where do you get most of your shawl patterns? Also most importantly where do you mostly buy your yarn

Saint Gianna Beretta Molla has a special place in my life — her feast day is my birthday! I also feel connected with her in so many ways beyond that. She is the perfect saint for women in the 21st Century; an incredible wife and mother, but also a working woman. Her thoughts on motherhood resonate deeply. How she managed to do it all, I cannot imagine, but I know it was certainly done by the grace of God. I will have to get this book of her letters — it sounds amazing!

I received my Hole and Sons yarn (Fog) last night and started in knitting as soon as the dishes were washed, the laundry in the washer, the vacuuming done, and the clean sheets put on the bed. My husband was out mowing so I figured I had a good 2 hours to get some knitting done. Ginny, you are coming right along on your clues. You must be done with clue 3. Just lovely! So far I haven’t had to rip out and start again. I count each side section to make sure they match up before going to the next row and that seems to help. It’s supposed to rain thru Friday in Iowa, so I’m hoping for some good knitting time. Take care.
