~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog, on Instagram (#yarnalong), or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~
This week I’ve been working on several projects, but I am knitting on my grey goose shawl the most because it is so easy to work on during the day while I am with my kids. Funny thing about kids, the way that the older ones run if they notice the camera, but my youngest always want to be in pictures. Beatrix is a regular photo-bomber these days. If she notices me taking pictures, she is sure to insert herself in the frame.
I’m reading Simplifying the Soul, and while it is written to be read over the weeks of Lent starting at the beginning, I just started it. I actually bought it a few years ago, but put it on a shelf and forgot about it. I am finding the first part on simplifying space to be really helpful. Proof is in the fact that I cleaned behind and under my refrigerator today. The assignment was to clean a hidden space and not to tell anyone in the family. Of course they all know because they were in the room….
The exciting news is that I have a new Yarn Along button! The wonderfully talented Leanne made it and I love it! Don’t worry, the old ones still work, but if you would like to swap out your Yarn Along buttons for the new one, you can grab the code below:

I like the new button! I missed linking up this week, but I am hoping to have a nursery reveal next week as well as a finished (cross my fingers) baby cardigan. That book sounds really interesting. I will look into it for next year. We are about to have our first baby and this year we focused on how we could open up our hearts more to God during Lent to prepare us. It has had its ups and downs. We are church of Christ and normally don’t participate in Lent, but we felt moved to this year. I have learned that it is not about the physical things we give up, but rather what we allow to happen in our hearts. God bless!

Your new logo is very pretty. Nice colours, good message and overall lay out. Yet I do not like it. Yarn Along is not exclusively a knitters’ affair I hope. I’ll continue to use the old one, as I knit, weave, crotchet and sew under the hat of Yarn along.

I started the Yarn Along over four years ago as a link up for knitters to share their projects as I am a knitter myself. Over the years a few crocheters have joined up as well (more than welcome), but the majority of those who participate have always been knitters. I’m sorry that you dislike the logo, I presume because of the stockinette stitches at the base? Of course you are welcome to use the other one, though the link up really is intended for sharing knitting and crocheting projects. There are a lot of link-ups out there for sharing more general work in progress posts.

I must admit, that I am mostly a knitter as well, but I like experimenting and I was a lurker on this Yarn Along for a long time before joining. I like your Yarn along – and your blog in general – very much and feel at home here. I hope I’ am still welcome wether I knit, crotchet or weave; plus I really like the duble meaning in yarn along, knitting (or whatever) and reading. (Maybe my words sounded harsher than I intended them, as I’m not a native seaker, I’m Danish).
This week I have been late doing everything, and tomorrow is Good Friday, where we just don’t open our computeras at all. But I’ll link up come Easter, if I’m still welcome with a weaving project and a good book 🙂
Have a blessed Tridum.

Hi Ginny,
your new yarn along button is very sweet!
So is your knitting. And the book sounds very interesting.
I apologise for double linking: I had some trouble with my computer / internet connection and put my link in twice because it looked like the first didn’t work. Seems like I cannot delete it myself? – so please feel absolutely free to do it – its currently nr. 15 and 55.

The study sounds lovely. I have noted it on my calendar for next year! The new button is so pretty and very “you”. I am also admiring the cozy neutral of your shawl. Very restful.

I’m reading that same book for Lent this year and am loving the daily meditations and assignments! Actually, I think I may have found the book in the first place through a link in your sidebar, so… thanks! 🙂
