~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading (though not at the same time!), and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~
Knitting: Larkspur’s Leksak. I want to finish it asap!
Reading: The latest Soul Gardening Journal. So much goodness in this issue! I’m also reading some Wilkie Collins short stories (After Dark: six tales of murder, mystery, and intrigue…), after recently finishing My Lady’s Money.

My friend just recommended ‘quiet’ to me, by Susan Cain. I am not far in but think you would enjoy it.

Oooh, that yarn looks lovely and thin! So pretty x

Love the grey in that sweater. Missing fall and that sweater makes me miss it more.

I love the Leksak I knit for my youngest, but I did find it hard to finish. When I picked the sleeves back up the guage was slightly tighter and it bugged me so much I could barely inch forward. Can’t even tell now. Such silliness! Finish, finish! 🙂 It’s such a wearable sweater!

I had the same experience with Bea’s Leksak (the sleeves being tighter). I also really worried about it, but it’s not noticeable. I think that I will go up a needle size when I knit the sleeves on Lark’s!

You’ve made my day! An experienced knitter like you having the same probs as itty-bitty me?? :-)) I would go up a bit on the needles too.
Amy says
I’ve made 2 leksaks now and I went up a needle size on the sleeves b/c I knit that much tighter in the round than I do flat. I had trouble picking up stitches on the front on the first one. I thought it pulled a bit so I used the larger needle for the front panel also on the second one and it’s perfect.

I somehow had never even heard of Wilkie Collins in spite of growing up in a literature-rich household and I am one chapter from the end of his The Woman in White. Wow, masterful writing! I will have to look into his short stories!

Oh yes, there is a polar vortex headed east, that is a good reason to knit don’t you think? 🙂 It’s going to be lovely Ginny.

I’m excited to see your finished project! Hope you have a great weekend!

I am loving the latest Soul Gardening issue, too! I must tell you, Ginny, I am not Catholic (we’re Lutheran), but I have found the so much inspiration & encouragement from the ladies behind the journal….it makes me want to convert. 😉 xx

Hi Ruby,
I read it too and I am Lutheran. I find it to be so peaceful and beautifully encouraging. I also read the daily prayers often on the Divine Office website. There is a lot of beauty in all of our churches and although we have different denominations we are one in Christ. Have a beautiful day!!
