~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~
Last night I put Job to bed, grabbed my copy of The Little Oratory and headed downstairs, planning to finish it. I settled down in a chair, and before I even opened my book, two of my older boys plopped down on the couch to talk. I didn’t read a single word. And that is how many of my evenings go these days. If my boys want to talk, I put everything else aside. I’ll finish my book eventually, I’m more than halfway through it, but they might not always want to talk to me!
My knitting is coming along well. I’m working on the lace portion of the shawl. Of course that means it’s been moved from daytime knitting to evening knitting because I can’t knit even the simplest lace while I homeschool, or sit with my little ones.

I have read your blog for a while now and absolutely adore it. Thanks so much for writing and sharing. It’s one o f the very few blogs I read daily and it really lifts me up during my stay at home mom days. I’m a knitter too and LOVE your knitting style. I actually found this same shawl pattern on revelry thanks to you and am currently on the lacework as well! I’m inspired to make another already from some beautiful simple color way. Mine now is out of a skein of striped Noro sock yarn that I had in my stash. Thank you for all you do!

I’m coming up late because I had my yarn along post programed but I didn’t had internet connection at home yesterday.
I love the color of what you are doing, I’m on a shawl too.
I have to remember this, to pay more attention to my boy now.
I think you are a great mama.
Thank you for sharing, your blog is the one I read more often lately, and your words are somehow inspiring, healing, and at the same time I worry about you, if you had a hard day or time.
Thank you.

Dear Ginny,
I discovered your blog yesterday evening, and already spent an awful amount of time reading it. It’s so lovely!
Thank you for sharing so much love, honesty and courage through your blog. I’m really looking forward to keep reading your previous blogpost and your upcoming adventures too.
I’m also taking part in your Yarn Along this week. That’s such a wonderful idea!
Sincerely,
Melody

I love the color of your shawl…it’s so exotic. It will surely be beautiful and I can’t wait to see it finished.
I often find myself wishing the days away a bit. No doubt I’m so blessed, but at very young ages all my children do is talk to me and ask why. ALL THE TIME.
But, I remember back to a time when all I wanted to do was talk to my mother. She was a single mom and my best friend. Even after college we would schedule nights out with one another where we would just sit and talk for hours.
Truly, I hope it never ends. Even though I would like to steal a moment to myself here and there, what is more important than spending time with our children. It can all wait, right?
Blessings,
Kelli

My oldest son talked to me the whole hour his sister was in dive team. When he left to take his turn, the woman near me mentioned she would give anything for her 17 yr old to sit and talk to her like that again. I try to remind myself that this time is oh so precious, and to immerse myself in it. It is hard to do though when that hour was about something he loves which I don’t.

you have summed up my knitting and reading as well with my son home for the summer. I pick up knitting and barely get a row in and I’m putting it down. He will be moving to a new apartment in August so my days are numbered and I’m just taking it in stride.
