~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~
I think my knitting picked up a little this week. I’m on row 187/661 on my Follow Your Arrow. The rows are getting shorter, thank goodness. I’ve been carrying Beatrix’s Leksak most everywhere I go and I made a good bit of progress on it this week as well. So, hooray! I feel like it’s been forever since I finished a project. Maybe another month, and at least the shawl will be finished!
I’m still reading The Beekeeper’s Apprentice. I am really enjoying it. I confess that my only real knowledge of Sherlock Holmes is from the show based on the books by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. I recognize details in the book that line up with what I’ve seen on the show and I like that.

I finished my leksak, but I had to rip out the front section and knit it again. I slipped stitches to make the picking up easier, then forgot that it would mean picking up every stitch along the front panel. The first attempt was almost gathered. Second attempt looks much nicer. I love the blue you are using. Can’t wait to see the finished product.

I really enjoyed The Beekeeper’s Apprentice. I hope you continue to, as well.

Ginny,
I picked up the Prize Winner of Defiance, Ohio at the library after you mentioned it here. I loved it! I was really happy because I requested for our library to get the new Stephanie Pearl-McPhee book and they got it in. It’s cracking me up, as her books always do. Thanks for the reading inspirations.
Love,
Taryn

i’ve not seen any of the newest renditions of sherlock holmes. i’m kind of a purest when it comes to literature. my husband introduced me to the series starring jeremy brett. now i’m reading the first volume. jeremy brett did a phenomenal job capturing the character – the quirks and nuances. the episodes themselves are true to the original stories written by doyle. i highly recommend the brett shows and reading the works themselves. divided into separate stories, it’s an easy thing to have lying around and pick up here and there between other reading.

glad you are making progress with both of your projects, since both kids are home I’ve had little to no knitting time!

I want to knit the Follow Your Arrow Shawl and even have the pattern, I’m just not sure what yarn to use. How exciting to be casting off a project soon. I cast off my shawl on Sunday and it felt great.
