First big win

It was a big weekend for Gabe and Keats.  Their baseball team won a championship while the rest of us watched from our pop up tent on the hill.  Gabe hit a homerun and later a grand slam that ended the first game and in the second he pitched a shutout (I share for the sake of the memory.)  I was so nervous for the boys, especially as they pulled ahead to win the final game against their local rival.  I never thought I would be so excited over baseball, but I kind of love it.  If we had television I think I would totally watch games on t.v.  I have the warmest memories of sitting on my granddaddy’s lap while he watched one baseball team on the big box television and listened to a second on the radio at the same time.  I sure wish he could be with us as we watch our boys play.

Silas happened to share a birthday (3!) with the big win, but he didn’t get to keep a trophy.  Birthday details soon!

Congratulations guys! That’s so awesome!! I LOVE watching baseball, especially at home. It’s the best soundtrack for taking a nap — and mean that as a compliment! Whomever narrates most of the MLB games has the most soothing voice ever (I’m totally blanking on his name right now…).

    Happy Birthday Silas!

Yay! Very exciting! We love baseball. My son(12)is playing travel ball this season, big stakes. I get so nervous during the games, he handles the pressure way better than I do. Congrats!
