Yarn Along

~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs.  I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~

20140304-DSC_0685I finished Larkspur’s Terra shawl, and have picked up my Jet Stream again.  I really love the yarn I’m using (unfortunately, it’s not available anymore) and the fact that this pattern stays interesting without getting too complicated.  I finally finished reading Crossing to Safety.  Wallace Stegner’s writing is beautiful, but his books are proving to be slow reading for me.  I also read the first quarter or so of Burial Rites and decided that while it is interesting, it is a little too dark and dreary for me.  But then, everyone got sick, and I found myself needing some easy to focus on reading, so I picked it up again and am now more than halfway through.  I am curious about how this book will end, but can’t say I’d recommend it.

Oh wow, it is so neat to see what everyone has on their needles and on their bookshelf! I remember enjoying Crossing to Safety as well, and also finding it a slow, deliberate, read.

It’s weird how some books however deep or dark do draw you back even though at times they are hard going. I hope that everyone keeps well and happy.

That shawl is fascinating! I can’t wait to see yours all finished. I love a project that is interesting but not overly complicated. That is so important for us moms of many!

The color of her shawl is gorgeous! I can’t ready heavy books….there’s enough heavy going on in my life. I’m all about memoirs, light and fun books.

How great that you could feel that wonderful feeling that comes when you cast of a project. I would love to knit Terra for Emerson so will have to show her the pattern when she comes to visit.
I have a hard time with dark books, Gone Girl was a book I had a hard time getting through so I’m not sure Burial Rites is a book for me.

beautiful knit and what a pretty pattern! Congrats on finishing your shawl for your daughter. I too would shelf a “dark” book especially in winter! I also shelf books with too much violence and it doesn’t matter if it’s winter or not, I just cannot handle the content.
