~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~
I’m in the home stretch of Larkspur’s shawl. I really love how it is turning out. I’m not a pink or purple person, but I have really fallen in love with the yarn that Larkspur chose. I think this is the first photo I have taken that actually shows the subtle variegation in the colorway (this is Luna Grey Calypso yarn in Sugar Plum.) I need to knit five rows per night for the next four nights, and then one night for the sewn bind off. If I can do that, I will have this finished in time for Larkspur’s birthday.
I picked up Burial Rites at the library yesterday. I’m not sure that I’m committed to reading it yet. The reviews are really good though, so I am going to give it a try. If it sucks me in in the first few chapters I will stick with it. I like that it is set in Iceland. Have any of you read it?

I’ve been drooling over that yarn color since you first posted it. The shawl is turning out beautiful.
Burial Rites is on my list, and the reviews sound great, but I heard the ending is sad, so it’s keeping me from leaping in just yet. I’m reading My Sisters the Saints right now and really enjoying it. It will be quickly passed on to my Mom and daughter. Thanks for the recommendation!

Thank you very much for the heads up about this book. At my library, there are 40 people ahead of me for the request, so I’m hoping to enjoy the audio version. Shorter wait list on that!

I knit Terra in a Cascade 220 for my Mum at Christmas – she wanted something warm. It’s a wonderful pattern and the yarn you are using is a beautiful colour

I am a pink person but not a purple person. Larkspur always has good taste in yarn and knits though!
You know what is really on my book mind lately Ginny? Good books for young teens! And early American literature. Willa Cather is on the list!

I read Burial Rites in early January, when winter was especially cold and dark. It’s a beautiful book though sad. Although it takes a few chapters to really suck you in, I highly recommend it.

can’t wait to hear what you think of the book, looks good based on the cover 🙂 that colorway is beautiful and I love yarns that have subtle variations in the dye.
