Today’s giveaway is from Heather of Mama’s Notebooks. I asked Heather to share a little about herself and what inspired her series of notebooks geared towards helping mamas stay organized!
“I am a Catholic wife, homeschooling mother of three little ones, and lover of knitting, crocheting, literature, and Chemistry. Though I am from the northeast, I love living in the great state of Texas and all the sunshine that comes with it. I dabble in urban homesteading to try and provide my family with truly nutritious food. My days are busy and happy and I love raising my children.
In an attempt to organize various aspects of my life, I originally designed and published all of Mama’s Notebooks for myself. I love notebooks, they keep everything in one neat little package but allow plenty of room for brainstorming and creativity within. They are flexible and that is what I needed as a young mother.
My first notebook was Mama’s Notebook. When I created it, I made and tested custom chart and list pages to keep everything streamlined and easy to reference. All of those years of organizing charts in lab notebooks certainly helped me here! After some fine tuning I had a system that helped me to declutter my mind and not constantly worry that I was forgetting to do something!
Having it all in one place made planning a week easy. In addition, I started being able to incorporate more nutritional balance into my meal plans, to see when a week was just too packed and I needed to step it down for everyone, and to prioritize my most important goals. At the end of the weeks, I could check in and see if I had accomplished what I needed to and if my goals were realistic. This new notebook really did wonders to help our family life.
My husband suggested that we should make the notebook publicly available because it might be useful to others, and Mama’s Notebooks was born. My goal is simply to provide people with something to help them get organized so that they can enjoy their lives with less worry and stress.
After making Mama’s Notebook, I used the same principles to organize our budget, my knit & crochet projects, and made the notebook I wish I could have had after each of my babies were born (hopefully, I’ll have an opportunity to use it yet!) Each notebook is designed to be both attractive and practical, to make everyday life just a little bit more beautiful.”
Mama’s Notebook provides you with an easy, flexible, and efficient way to organize your life. In one glance, you can coordinate your meal plan with the whole day’s events and tasks, and there’s always ample room to take notes on the things that matter to you most! Unlike other planners, you can start up Mama’s Notebook on any week of the year, and you can skip weeks as needed. The back section of the planner provides you with easy reference sheets to help you schedule and shop efficiently.
The Knit and Crochet Notebook by Mama’s Notebooks will help you to organize your thoughts, customizations and designs for knit and crochet projects. It features project pages for each project, an easy-reference table of contents at the beginning to help you keep track of individual projects, a hook and needle tracker, a project wish list, a guide to easy measuring with charts to keep measurements for the people you make things for, and a standard yarn weight reference—all in one notebook! This spiral bound notebook is easy to flip through and has graph paper to help you with your designs.
The Budget Notebook by Mama’s Notebooks is designed to help you keep a household budget that is simple, easy, and accurate. It features charts for everything you’ll need to get your budget under control, as well as a Notes section at the back with ample room for planning, organizing, writing reminder and to-do lists, and tallying up sums. You can buy this notebook for an academic year budget (September-August) or a calendar year budget (January-December).
The New Baby Notebook by Mama’s Notebooks provides you with one place to keep track of your family’s needs. In the front of the book, you can record all of your important phone numbers so that you don’t have to go searching for them when you need them. Organized by weeks, this notebook provides a simple daily calendar, meal planner, and to do list alongside a daily feeding & diaper record, as well as a checklist for taking care of you. You can open the notebook and see your entire week at a glance! In the back, there is a place to take notes on baby’s sleep as well as reference sheets to fill in for your freezer meal inventory, a standard shopping list, go to meals and snacks, a list of books and movies for when you need them, and a thank you card tracker. The meal references are designed to help you streamline easy meal planning on the calendar pages. And of course, there is also plenty of room for notes.
