~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~
I am almost finished reading The Woman in White. I have thoroughly enjoyed it, and am now finding that it’s cutting into my knitting time because I don’t want to put it down! I have worked a bit on the little gray baby pants, and I started a Milo vest for Silas with green Cascade 220 left over from my February Lady Sweater. I typically knit Milo’s without embellishment. I view them as utilitarian items and care mainly about getting them finished as quickly as possible. This time, I thought I would add a cable just to mix things up a bit. Then I received a beautiful little Milo as a gift for the new baby with a tree on it, and I considered attempting the same. I’ve come full circle though, and am back to thinking I’m going to knit this one as plainly and quickly as possible so I can move on to other projects.

I really like the Milo pattern. I like that initially it feels like it’s going to be a long slog and then suddenly you’re done. Maybe it’s the initial purling that is so slow going for me. I need to knit some more to stashbust.

Oh well, better late than never lol. You are looking gorgeous (in your shawl post). I used a similar shade to that green for my knitting this week. I do love green, even though the browns and oranges of autumn are calling me.
Love

Ginny,
I think that green color for the Milo is going to be so handsome on Silas. Bracken still fits into the Milo I knit for him, but I’m starting to itch to knit him another one in a different colorway. It’s such a great knit!
Love,
Taryn

I just wanted to say how much I enjoy your weekly posts. I’ve participated once before, but somehow can’t manage to get my act to together to be a part of it more often. Hopefully, soon! The Tree Milo is so cute, by the way, but a simple Milo is always great. 🙂 -Ve

I have to thank you for hosting Yarn Along. I’m sure you’re quite busy with your family, homeschooling, knitting projects, and that little “project” you’re also working on, so I appreciate you taking the time to do this. I really enjoy seeing what everyone else is reading and knitting ~ Thank you!

I will have to look into The Woman in White. So, I’m still curious and maybe you’ve talked about this before and I missed it but how do you keep these beautiful hand knits from getting trashed on your kids? I feel like it only makes sense to knit for babies before they’re eating real food and not playing in the dirt or basically moving much because my older kids would just destroy them. Do you just expect that and deal or do they somehow stay nice? I’d love to hear your method!

I haven’t commented in a while…you look Fantastic!!! at 36 weeks!!!!!! And, I like that your 13 year old doesn’t want to get older. So refreshing to hear that from a teenager. Let them stay young and innocent as long as possible, they’ll be adults for a l-o-n-g time.

Adorable baby items! I always love the colors you choose. I have such a hard time selecting colors; I am never satisfied with my choice. The Woman In White is waiting for me at the library–I’m picking it up today. : )

I’ve yet to knit a Milo and will have to remedy that. Have yet to read The Woman in White and will also have to remedy that! 🙂

Oh, a Milo! I love those. I think I need to make another for my daughter… Those balloon pants are lovely, too. xo

A green little vest with a tree on it sounds delightful, but the plain ones are charming. I don’t think you can go wrong with the green you’ve chosen. 🙂

Such a great book, an old favorite of mine, and beautiful knitting!

love your knits as always! Have you read novel from Australia called _Knitting_? You may like it…I really did 🙂 Blessed day to you!

the Milos are very cute … and a blank palette that may only need your wonderful knitting….
are y’all planning to come down to Montpelier? I’ll be there on Sunday, demoing knitting from 1-2:30 and otherwise at the Spring Gate booth

My son and I had matching sweaters when he was small, lovely pale green ones with ducks and hearts on – but not knitted by me, I didn’t knit in those days. I wish I was a knitter when I had a baby to knit for! He’s 22 now, so I’m just waiting patiently for grandchildren 😉

Maybe you could just zip along through the Milo and do a little yarn embroidery on there? I like that spruce color!

I’ve read that book and really enjoyed it. You can’t beat the classics for good reading. A plain little Milo would be precious. Your yarns are beautiful.
Tracey says
You and Silas can match when he wears his vest and you wear your sweater. When my babies were younger they were always thrilled when we wore something that matched. Now? Not so much 😉

I love the Milo vest. I really want to make one for this new baby! The Woman in White sounds very good! I’m off to see if my library has it!

I spent most of yesterday finishing little women and I like you couldn’t put it down or do anything until it was done. Then I was sad that I finished it!
I tend to knit simply or do a tiny focus on a knit. The milo is a lovely shade of green and you and he can be matchy matchy 🙂
