~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~
I finished Larkspur’s Phoebe’s Sweater last night! I am super excited to have that checked off my list. I’ll try to get pictures in the next few days. My current baby knitting project is a pair of little pants. I am knitting them in a new to me yarn, Quince & Co.’s Finch. It seemed like a good choice because it’s not too expensive (and I was already ordering the red yarn for Lark’s sweater,) and isn’t superwash like many sock yarns out there. I want to be able to use these pants as a diaper cover. I’ll let you know how that works out when the time comes.
I didn’t read very much this week because of the furious knitting on the red sweater. Once I get in bed at night I am typically not even good for one chapter. I am still really liking everything about The Woman in White and might allow myself to spend a bit more time with it now that the sweater is finished.

Wow Ginny! I’ve been out of the loop for a couple of months… are there always this many links or does absence just make the heart grow fonder? Definitely I’m suffering from sensory overload right now. That, and an overwhelming desire to inhale alpaca… processed alpaca of the yarnish kind! 🙂
Blessings, Debbie

Hi Ginny and thanks for hosting yarn along. Unfortunately I seem to have linked twice!. Hope you can fix your end. I am glad you chose Women in white. I love that book and know you will enjoy it. 🙂

Ginny,
I love those pants you’re knitting. Really cute pattern.
I’m reading a book that I’m loving right now. My grandma recommended it to me. It’s called ‘Little Heathens: Hard Times and High Spirits on an Iowa Farm During the Great Depression.’
Love,
Taryn
P.S. I read the link to your friend Elizabeth’s post. I’ll keep her in my prayers.

I love the colour of the baby pants. Can’t wait to see the pics of the jumper you just finished. I agree, the children years are the best years of one’s life!

Your blog always calms me down…Please pray for my friend. She just gave birth to her first child, a baby boy. He stopped breathing his first night home and has been in NICU since. Thanks and thanks for yarn along!
Ginny says
I’m praying for them right now, Maria.

Love those pants Ginny. We are traveling in two (to four) weeks to pick up our daughter from the DRCongo! I wanted to link up little pockets that I’ve been knitting away for her orphanage we will be visiting, but my blog is running SO super slow this morning. 🙂

Sweet little baby pants! Enjoy this time, Ginny, it goes so fast. The best time of my life was when I was having babies and had a houseful of little children. Those were the golden years. ♥

I am a no good bed reader either unless I am totally supposed to be doing something else and happen to fall into my bed 😉 Love this little pants, I really like the high waist and may need to try those for Matthew but I will wait and see what you think.

I’ve always been told to use worsted weight for diaper covers. I don’t mean that in a bossy way, I’m just eager to find out how you like it. I would much prefer to use a lightweight yarn like that as a cover, and so pretty!
Ginny says
No, you’re totally right. This pattern is just so cute and I want to at least try and make them practical. Maybe these will work for short periods or with a lightweight cover underneath like one of these: http://www.littlespruceorganics.com/engel-organic-merino-virgin-wool-nappy-pants/

I just added a photo (#101) of grey longies I made for my little girl. I’m not sure I used the right wool either, but I just did an extra lano spray in the diaper area and they worked ok. Theses were newborn/0-3mo size, so lots of diaper changes anyway. 🙂

Those are sweet little pants! I’m excited to see Larkspur’s completed sweater too. 🙂

great idea to not use superwash for the pants, it will hold it’s shape better as well. superwash tends to be droopy. love the color and I adore the yarn company 🙂 can’t wait to see the finished sweater !!

That pattern is adorable. I haven’t come across it before. Looking forward to seeing your latest Phoebe! xoxo

I think seeing a pair of longies gives me baby fever quicker than seeing a newborn. 😉 Those will be so cute!

Love the look of Larkspur’s sweater, a very pretty stitch pattern I think. Love to see more pictures of it and I am curious how the baby pants turn out.
Thanks for Yarn Along!

I’m trying out Quince&Co. for the first time on my next project. I really hope that i like it because it is a great price for yarn (and they are named for birds!).

Eager to hear how the pants turn out!
