~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~
I finally got started on Little Ancolie, for Beatrix this week. I am not usually a big fan of purple, but the purple gray of this yarn is really, really pretty. Beatrix is very pleased that I am knitting something for her (there’s been so much new baby knitting lately!)
I’m still reading Sense and Sensibility, getting closer to the end now. I started reading Pollyanna to my kids a few days ago. I think everyone needs to learn the “glad game.”

The yarn you are using is beautiful. Then again, I am partial to any purple yarn.

I am new to your blog and am really enjoying my visits here….I am
currently reading 1000 gifts by Ann Voskamp and crocheting a throw
or blanket of granny squares and just straight crocheted squares all
joined together in black wool with a black border…am excited to see it finished.
I really do love knitting though and with the cold weather coming I am looking
forward to working on lots of hats, scarves and mittens, maybe a vest or two…love
your knitting…..very inspiring here….Corinne

What a sweet pattern! I love that it goes up in sizes. I may have to put this one on my queue for my daughter. I am amazed at how quickly you get projects finished! I am so s.l.o.w. 🙂 Oh, I LOVE Pollyanna! The Glad Game…wouldn’t we all be happier?! 🙂

Love that greyish purple. This is going to be a precious little cardigan.
I’ve seen Karen and Steph’s Yarn Along posts and couldn’t resist joining today. Thank you for hosting this gathering of beautiful knits and good reads. I forgot to add that part… but, not likely anyone other than myself would be interested in Zen Putting (golf addict along with fibre addict). 😉
I’ll be back this afternoon to visit around. Thank you again. blessings ~ tanna

I have recently begun to love a good purple and that yarn is a good purple!

Those are both great books. Pollyanna is an especially sweet book for children but also gives adults some things to think about. I think we all need to play the glad game.

Over the last few years purple has moved up on my scale of great colors, before it was just the color Donny Osmond liked 😉 [ Yes, I’m old]. I bet Bea is so happy to see her knit on your needles.

Oh, that cardi is lovely. What a pretty pattern, love the peplum styling. And the yarn…mmmm…I’m a purple and grey girl, so right up my alley! It can be hard keeping the knitting ‘even’ can’t it? I’ve been a little caught up with girly projects but shifting to the boys now 🙂
Amy says
I love that pattern. You are a knitting machine!
Paula@weewhimsicals says
Amy, my thoughts exactly! 🙂

Oh, I love the yarn and the pattern! I had to look it up on Ravely . . . I crochet, but adorable things like that make me want to knit too! 🙂

I love that purple gray! Pollyanna is on our list of possibilities to read this year, but I’m not sure my boys will enjoy it. What do your boys think so far?

How funny that you’re starting this for Beatrix—I was looking through patterns on Ravelry last night (trying to find something to do with the lovely fingering-weight yarn that I used to begin a cardigan for Julia that I’m not likely ever going to finish…) and stumbled upon her Paulette pattern. I love this one, too; it’s in my wish list for Julia… xo

Ginny, I loved Polyanna as a child! Thanks for the reminder. We’ve been listening to stories online at Storynory to give me a break from talking so much. Wonder if they have it?
