We are expecting another baby boy this fall! We couldn’t be more excited. Even Beatrix who did literally storm out of the ultrasound room at the “boy” announcement, now tells people that the new baby is going to be her birthday present. Jonny and I don’t have quite the energy that we did ten years ago when our first pair of boys was small, so this will be interesting. While he is adored by everyone he meets, a close friend of ours has described Silas as “feral.” He is rather active to be sure. He just needs a little brother to play with! The girls are counting down the days and weeks until the baby arrives, while Jonny and I are wishing that the days would slow down. There is so much to do around here to get ready! Hopefully I’ll have time to get him covered in the hand knits department. I’m certainly trying!
Ravelry notes for the baby knits:
Milo Vest (I used leftover yarn from this shawl)
Lil’ Midi Bean
Perfect Fit Newborn Socks
My other knits for this baby are in this post.

3 random things from my foggy mind: 1. I went to my LYS yesterday and stood there wondering who I wanted to knit a milo for. (Lyme makes me very forgetful.) I never did remember. But it was you! And you made one already. 🙂 2. I dreamed last night that you were surprised by a baby girl and you named her Anna. Why? I have no idea. and 3. When I was a child my dad collected swarms and he looks just like your swarm guy from the last post. But without the accent. It’s a little spooky. Random enough for ya? Hope you are feeling better, friend. x

Congrats on the new little boy! 🙂 Boys are a handful, to be sure, but I’m sure Silas will appreciate a boy close in age. The knits are adorable. My daughter cried in the ultrasound room when we found out our youngest (and last) was a boy. She still lobbies for a sister occasionally, but when I point out the odds of another brother, she quiets quickly. 😉

Congrats! Thinking that same might describe my 3 y/o son like that too. Good thing we now have 2 boys.

Congratulations! Boys are supposed to be a little wild aren’t they? I’m sure big brother is going to love having a little playmate to rumble around with as he grows.

will this be your 7th child then?
I have 3 children…i would love to have another but it seems like such a big step.

It will be 7! And I had thought we’d only have two 🙂 It helps to think of how much you love the ones you already have and trust that you will receive the grace you need for another. And then the new baby arrives and you can’t imagine life without him/her! Beatrix is our number four and she is absolutely priceless in every way.

Congratulations!!!! Having raised girls it has taken me time to get used to the grandsons. I have a new grandson, Luke, due Sept 16. I think that may be close to your due date?

Oh my goodness…congratulations!!! His big brothers must be super excited to get another boy!! (And how perfect that you did have two girls together…we’re very close to the birth of our second, who is going to be another girl and I keep telling my husband we can now have as many boys as we’d like since our daughters will have each other, haha!). Btw, I love that Silas looks so much like you! What a cutie!
Kendra says
Congratulations!! I had to laugh…as I have a ‘feral’ young boy too!
