Yarn Along

~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs.  I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~

I nearly forgot to take a Yarn Along photo today.  The light was fading fast, so I grabbed my book and project and ran outside.  The moment I laid my things down to take a photo, the chickens moved in to investigate…

I think they’re pretty amusing.

This week I finished Larkspur’s Bulle, and cast on for Beatrix’s. I am knitting Bea’s in the same yarn and colorway (tosh vintage/amber trinket) and waiting to give Larkspur hers until Bea’s is finished.

I finished reading Far from the Madding Crowd, and started reading Henry James’ Washington Square.  According to the back cover, Graham Greene once said of it, “Perhaps the only novel in which a man has successfully invaded the feminine field and produced a work comparable to Jane Austen’s.”  I am reading this book for my book club and I am enjoying it so far.  While I did like Far from the Madding Crowd, I am appreciating the fact that Washington Square doesn’t have me feeling like I need to look up the definition of words constantly!

Grab a button for your post or sidebar! Visit the Yarn Along page for additional button colors!
Below is a linky list if you’d like to link up and join the Yarn Along.
(1) Make sure the link you submit is to the URL of your blog post or your specific Flickr photo and not your main blog URL or Flickr Photostream. Please be sure and link to your current Yarn Along post, and not a Yarn Along post from a previous week.
(2) Include a link back to this post in your blog post or on your flickr photo page so that others who may want to join the Yarn Along can find us!
(3) If you have any trouble linking up, just email me and I will help you!

Those pesky chickens :- ) As I scrolled through your photos I kept wanting to shout, “Oh no! Save that yarn!”

Larkspur’s Bulle turned out so pretty–are you knitting Beatrix’s in the same color?

I want to start reading more classic books. You inspire me :- )

Such curious chickens! It reminds me of a book I read to my girls this week, Chickens to the Rescue. They help the family with all their work. I think you may have some knitting chickens on your hands! Beautiful yarn too! Why type is it?

It’s the same yarn I used for Larkspur’s Bulle: Madelinetosh vintage in amber trinket. Bea’s skeins are a bit brighter though.

The productivity is an illusion I guess! I barely knit at all this week, Larkspur’s Bulle was nearly finished when I hurt my shoulder. I am really, really hoping to be able to knit more in the coming week so both girls can wear their matching Bulles! My shoulder does feel a lot better, so I am hopeful!

Well, Larkspur’s Bulle was almost finished when I hurt my shoulder. It worked out well that I only had to knit a little this week to finish it up, so I could feel productive without having to do much. My shoulder does feel better, but my knitting mojo is slow in returning for some reason. I swear, now my left hand is hurting when I knit!!
