How are all of you? I hope that those of you who were in the path of Sandy are safe and warm. We escaped unscathed. In fact, my children are terribly disappointed that we never even lost power. Silly kids.
We did so much clean up in anticipation of damage from this storm, that we have actually come out ahead. The only branches on the ground, are those still lying around from this summer’s crazy storm. I am very grateful.
It is cold and wet and windy here. So, naturally, I have been helping Intruder to sneak inside. Jonny exclaimed that, “Cats in the house will be the death of me!” No, he’s not allergic.
My boys are all lying on the bed still occupying the living room floor, listening to The Fellowship of the Ring. There was a group groan when I mentioned school. Maybe I’ll give them the day off.
p.s. Rachel shared the link to this wind map and it’s really cool!

Glad to hear you all are well. We live in the country at the very end of the power line, so we’re out usually a couple of weeks a year and are prepared…..and love it. Nuthin buzzin, wood stove warming, gentle lights…..and rare rare rare time off from workin.

Happy to read you are fine!!

Glad to hear that you are all well.
My husband is often befuddled by the barn cats that show up in the house, looking very comfortable lounging on the couch.

Good to hear you are all ok! Enjoy your day off! We were prepared for the worst but luckily are all fine, still have power and no damage. My son had a blast because we all slept in the same room as a precaution and he got to sleep in his pop up camping tent 🙂

Our power was out for 20 hours. It just came back on about an hour ago. I’m so glad to be putting Sandy behind us.

I remember the thrill of a power outage as a child too, with none of the worries of the inconveniences and the food in the freezer that my parents had.
Glad to hear you are all safe. 🙂

We escaped with very little damage as well…and we never lost power for more than a minute. I’m so happy about that.

Very happy to hear you are all OK and did not suffer any damage etc from that storm. I wish I could have the day off from work and school 🙂 Enjoy!

Glad to hear that you weren’t affected by the storm, and that you even got some cleaning and organizing done. All good to be prepared just in case. Enjoy the rest of the week!

Glad you are all well and don’t have a done of mess to clean us. I am just outside harrisburg and we were predicted to get hit pretty hard but were very fortunate and the winds were not nearly as bad as predicted. Only a few minor power flashes. I suspect our schools will reopen tomorrow. A lot of people around here are complaining that everything was shut down for “nothing” but I a, thankful so many played it safe. A few days of slowing down and hunkering down with the family are good for the soul if nothing else.
Prayers going to all of those who didn’t fair as well as we did and those still battling the storm.

So glad you all are fine. I was worried about you.
Everything is closed for the day here, but we have rabbit ears to check the news reports (we are supposed to get more wind & rain later on today) and the children watched about half of ‘Mary Poppins’ before they lost interest and went off to play upstairs. xo

I’m so glad to hear you are okay and that your power is still on, having no power is the pits.
My sister in Paris, Va. is still without power so she is pretty unhappy :(.
I hope today is a good one and there is laughter in your home.

day off! my kids’ school closed for the day and we weren’t even in the storm’s direct path. although, unlike some who are grumbling about it, i’m happy. it was a wise decision for the safety of the kids. and i like having them home for jammies and pancakes and whatever else we do today. 🙂
