~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~
I am still knitting socks, and still reading Ida Elizabeth. I am really enjoying the book. The socks are coming along slowly, but I should be turning my first heel very soon. So, that’s exciting I guess!
Adding my link a bit late due to last minute recovery of wi-fi after last week’s storms. Better late than never, I hope!
Participating for the first time, glad to be here!
Hi Ginny. This is my first link to ‘Yarn Along”.

Happy, belated, 4th of July. xxoo
Thank you for hosting this Yarn Along, Ginny. I just recently found your blog and I’m enjoying it so much! You’ve inspired me with your lovely handcrafts and in your photography and in just your refreshing honesty in your posts. I’m looking forward to getting to know you better!
I’ve never made socks before. Someday I just might have to give them a try! I do know how to knit, but I’ve never followed a knitting pattern, just crochet.
Be patient with your socks and you’ll be rewarded…you’re good at knitting the two legs together, it will save you time later(if you ever get to the end of the legs, that is!)
Happy 4th of July to you Ginny! Your project is really looking great 🙂
Your socks look lovely and the color is yummy. Happy 4th. Hope you guys are back in your home. Summer 2012 sure is adding up to one big challenge across the country. I am here in the west on the front range and the fires have been “wild”. Could use a little of your rain as you could use a little of our dryness:).
I love the green in the socks! Happy Fourth of July!
Happy Fourth of July!
Happy 4th of July! Admiring your fortitude on the socks!
Happy Independence Day! My grandmother lives in Fredericksburg and she’s still without power. Hope your family is well.
Happy 4th of July to you Ginny!
Yeah to sock knitting! Love the color you are knitting them with.
I love that green yarn, gorgeous shade.
Loving your socks!
Happy Fourth of July!
Today was Nana’s Birthday…I lit a candle for her.
Your Socks are coming along fast.

Hope you enjoy the day Ginny! Your socks look beautiful.
Happy 4th, all! Hope everyone has the day off and gets a chance to read and/or knit!
Happy 4th July. I see you are reading the Alfie books. I read them to my girls and now to my grandson. Lovely stories and illustrations. We also have some of her signed illustrations framed
Loving your socks! I just finished my pair last night (whew!).
I love the color of the sock yarn. They look great so far.
Hi Ginny, sock knitting is slow, you have to be in the right mood for it I think, then it’s quite therapeutic : ) Great idea to work on both simultaneously, beautiful colour. Thank you for hosting us all so faithfully x M
Happy 4th of July! That green yarn looks amazing!
Happy 4th! Turning the heel is most certainly a big deal. It gets pretty exciting at that point. Well as exciting as knitting socks can be.
May you have a wonderful 4th of July, everyone!!! ♥ It’s Independence day here in the USA!
I am loving the color of your socks. That is my absolutely favorite color of green. 🙂
I love those socks… xo
I think the socks look pretty :). I love the colour and pattern.
I think the added inspiration of seeing your socks pushed me over the edge. Once I cast off the jacket I was working on last week I cast on my first pair of socks! I only had enough double pointed needles on hand to start on the one sock and am working the heel flap now. I see many socks in my future now…
Yours are looking lovely. Such rich colours. 🙂
Gorgeous colour, those socks will be such a nice treat to slip on once autumn hits!
Your socks are coming along quite well. I admit to setting mine aside for something new. I am still working on them, but very slowly!
I’m thinking of starting socks soon. It’s absolutely yonks since I’ve made any so hope I can remember how it’s done. I love the colour of yours.
Thanks for hosting.
Have a happy week.
Deb
I love the color of the socks, Ginny! I hope you have a fun Fourth of July 🙂
I htink your method of 2 socks at one time(not magic loop or knitting one inside) the other is very clever. And it sure helps with second sock syndrome. All those tiny fine stitches….they look fabulous. Once you turn your first heel you will be hooked! There will be socks cast on for everyone in your family. I hope you are back in your home and everyone is safe and sound. If you need anything at all, please just say the words. Thanks for hosting Yarn Along.
