Yarn Along

~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs.  I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~

Yarn Along

I’ve put my February Lady sweater on hold for a few days to knit up some Easter eggs.  I am also working on a little felted basket to go with them.  I think that my girls will enjoy hiding these eggs and hunting for them over and over again. For the eggs I am using this pattern in worsted weight yarns rather than the fingering weight called for.  The result is that the eggs are just about the size of the real thing.  Each egg takes me about twenty minutes to complete.  I am using this felted bowl pattern for the basket, and will just add an I-cord handle to it before I felt it.  We’ve been spending most of our time reading about bees, but I did pick up a charming and funny gardening read at the Library.  Merry Hall follows the author’s renovation of a house and it’s gardens in post war England.  It’s the first in a trilogy, and I suspect that I’ll read all three over the summer.

How about you guys?  What are you making?

I love the eggs! What a great idea to let them “hunt” for them over and over. I’ll be looking at this pattern ASAP.

Your eggs are so sweet, but rather too large for the nest I’ve knitted!

Oh, your eggs look wonderful, so prettily knit and coloured! And I definitely want to read that book—in fact, I just looked to see if my library has it (they don’t, I’ll have to order it).

The variegated one is very spring-coloured, really like it- makes me want to crochet some pastel-coloured eggs myself, but bunny ears have been requested so we’ll see how far I actually get!
