~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~
I have spent more time trying to decide exactly how I want to knit my February Lady Sweater than I have actually working on it this week. I am almost ready to start the lace repeats, but am obsessing over my increases just a bit. I know I am not the only one of us knitting an FLS right now, and it was mentioned to me that some of you might want to participate in an informal FLS knit along. I am not committing to finishing mine anytime soon, but if any of you knitting an FLS want to check in and cheer each other on, it would be great if you would add “FLS” next to your name when you link up. That way we can easily find each other.
I have been reading He Leadeth Me in the evenings. This is such a wonderful book, but it is reading that requires my full attention, and quiet time is hard to come by. Jonny and I are also both reading about beekeeping right now as I might be picking up a couple of hives later this week. We’ve been talking about bees for almost seven years now (based on the train ticket from 2005 that he found marking his page in The Backyard Beekeeper.) A friend pointed me toward Michael Bush, so I am reading his book The Practical Beekeeper and realizing that his ideas coincide well with the way Jonny and I like to do things in general.

I’m late again on the link up, love the color of your sweater, did I say that before. lol. Hang in there on the garden, once you get going you’ll feel more fit, just a bit at a time. The baby is adorable, walking at 10 months, yikes but oh so sweet. We are looking forward to the post by the little guy on his finds, my Sarah wants a metal detector for her birthday, she reads all the posts you’ve written about them and follows the links. 🙂 Have a good weekend.

For the February Lady Sweater so far I did three gauges. One only gave the exact width of 4″ but was too short. I wonder what to do now? Just add on to the number of needles given for lengths?

I’m a new knitter and I can’t wait to join in the yarn along soon! I had to comment because I saw what you were reading…I just finished “First Lessons in Beekeeping” and really enjoyed it. Back yard Beekeeping is next on my list!

re Pep Talk,
Just had to say you are one amazing mummy. I’ve just had a quick look through your last few posts. Your kiddies look sooooo happy. I also wanted you to know that they will remember all the the fun you all had as they were growing up and not whether the front porch was always tidy or wether there were never dirty dishes in the sink. You’ll have time for a tidy house when they have homes of their own. Enjoy the journey, you are doing the most important and wonderful job in the world. And, you are going to have such fun one day with all the cute little grandbabies you’l have.
Blessings Gail (from Australia)

I wasn’t able to participate this week since I haven’t done much reading. But I’m glad to see you are getting outside! The picture is gorgeous, and it looks like a perfect place to knit!

My parents started beekeeping a few years back. I love talking with Mom on the phone and hearing stories about the Bees and her Duck n chickens. Makes we long for our rural life several years ago. Love that you are knitting the Feb Lady sweater.

Oh that delicious green yarn in the grey outside. Happy happy happy. 🙂

I love your pictures of knitting and reading outside with a cup of tea (or something warm and good). It’s so romantic and is exactly what I think I look like when I knit or read. In reality I’m actually crammed on a couch with a bunch of laundry and a toddler trying to eat my yarn.
I like your idea better. You make it look and sound fun!
