~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~
I set aside my bigger knitting projects to secretly knit up a couple of doll sweaters for my girls’ stockings this week. Beatrix came into the room when I was trying to sneak this photograph and kept trying to grab my knitting, asking what it was. I told her “not to worry about it.” But for some reason that didn’t really satisfy her three year old self. She reached out and grabbed the ball of tosh vintage, squeezed it, rubbed it against her cheek, and I kid you not said, “Wow, this is amazing.” I confess, I felt rather pleased with her in that moment.
I read Truman Capote’s A Christmas Memory this week for my book club. I love this short, satisfying story. It’s amazing how much great discussion it generated at my book club meeting. I highly recommend it!
Keats is joining me for the Yarn Along this week. He got tired of waiting for me to cast on a vest for him, and did so himself. I am helping him knit a Milo vest using Knit Picks Chroma (I’m not allowed to knit a single stitch, only to help him navigate the pattern and teach new techniques as needed.) Keats is currently reading Dr. Dolittle’s Garden, and has been for some time now; maybe longer even than I have been reading Howard’s End (give me another week!)
