Yarn Along
~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~
The hours that I used to spend each evening knitting, are now occupied with Silas (I’m not complaining.) So, I haven’t accomplished much in the knitting department. I did cast on and knit a bootie (the one above) last week when I was really sick. I missed a few decreases, so that bootie falls right off. Knitting with a high fever probably wasn’t the smartest idea. I began another and am wondering how long it will take for me to finish a pair. The pattern is the same that I used to knit Silas a pair of booties just before he was born, but this time I am using Malabrigo Silky Merino (in lettuce) and knitting the largest size. I did finish reading A Tree Grows in Brooklyn (loved it) and began another Willa Cather, Sapphira and the Slave Girl. This story is set on Back Creek in Virginia, which is pretty neat because that is where we stayed for the Highland County Maple Syrup festival back in March. Of course neither of those books is what is pictured above. Jonny is reading one of my absolute favorite books, Giants in the Earth: A Saga of the Prairie so I grabbed it for my photo.
Below is a linky list if you’d like to add a link to your own Yarn Along photo.
(**And those of you posting crochet projects, don’t forget to add the word “crochet” next to your name! thanks!)
You can also join the Flickr Yarn Along group to share your knitting and reading photos anytime!
