Highland County: At Back Creek

We took a little trip this weekend to visit Highland County, Virginia.  While the kids can’t believe how quickly the trip came and went, I can’t believe how much we did in two days. It will take me all week to sort through it all, and share it with you.  We stayed in a little house on Back Creek, and these photos were all taken there.
I think the photographs tell the story pretty well, but I will say, that bridge was scary.  It was sound enough, but the look on my face as I crossed the first time was so funny to my boys that Gabe actually requested my camera so that he could take pictures of me on the way back across.  Of course I smiled for the camera, rather than looking terrified, so I am sure he was disappointed.
That’s all I have time for today, especially considering that losing one hour always feels like losing three or so in my opinion.  Technically it’s the girls’ bedtime now and we still haven’t eaten dinner!  And Beatrix is climbing in my lap right now telling me, “Me not happy.”  I think one of her socks just got sucked up the vacuum cleaner.  I better go rescue it so she can be happy again.
