I saw these simple paper lanterns on Heather’s blog a couple of days ago and knew they would be easy for my kids to make on their own, and that they would love them since my kids are all about anything that involves fire in any form or fashion. There’s also something nice about a craft that doesn’t have to involve me, I must admit. I gave them all one sheet of lightweight watercolor paper (translation=cheap watercolor paper) and had them paint the entire surface of the paper as we didn’t have any pretty patterned paper. After the papers dried they made the lanterns following these instructions. Tomorrow I am making fresh batch of homemade play dough, Beatrix’s new favorite, and literally the only thing that will keep her busy! Keeping it simple!
