Finding eight white ironstone teacups at the thrift. We were down to one mug with a handle.
Meyer lemons: in my hot tea with honey and in my water with ice.
Overhearing Seth, my oldest, leading Beatrix, my youngest, in a morning offering and a blessing before sharing a muffin with her.
My girls wearing handknit Noro sweaters.
Things I don’t love (sorry no pictures)
Tantrums, fits, and whining: all big parts of Beatrix’s days lately.
(my technique for handling tantrums? I ignore them the best I can, but sometimes I have to make sure she doesn’t bang her head on the floor. goodness-she’s something!)
Coughing, wheezing, and the resulting exhaustion. I’ve been sick for weeks; can’t seem to shake the cold turned nasty that I picked up in New Mexico. This happens to me sometimes, and I am praying that this doesn’t become my winter norm this year; last year I did pretty well. A couple of years ago I got a cold that turned into this really bad asthma inducing illness and ever since I have struggled with this stuff (not sure how else to describe it. I don’t have asthma, but suffer from asthma symptoms now). It’s so not fun. Especially being pregnant. Any natural remedies out there? I have been taking elderberry syrup and drinking tea with lemon and honey of course, but I have no idea what I can do to help the wheezing, coughing, and feeling like someone is standing on my chest all night (updated to add-I don’t have chest congestion, and only minimal nasal congestion-mainly that awful chest tightness that causes the coughing/wheezing that sets in at night.) Yuck-o-la.
(Were I to visit the doc, they would prescribe inhalers-but I don’t want to go there!)
So that’s it. I am doing my best to focus on the things I love and hoping tonight is better than last night.
