Today was a lovely, gray, rainy day. We haven’t had these in so long that I welcome them.
The gray weather feels so cozy and really goes well with what I would love to be doing all day: snuggling in my bed reading. I have really started to feel physically terrible. I haven’t started doing anything about it yet, and need to get some B6 and I also had a blog friend recommend an acupressure bracelet, so I need to look into that. Where do you get them?
I am wondering how I am going to keep my family fed through this! Food is so yucky. I cannot believe that I ate Indian food just days ago. I have a big pot of my friend Eve’s ginger lime tea on the stove, so I will have that for tomorrow and maybe it will help. I do wonder why this is called morning sickness, because for me and plenty of others, it is almost worse in the evening. I have this little cycle in which I am hungry which makes me feel sick, so I make myself eat, which makes me feel sicker, and then I vow never to eat that food again.
Larkspur was happy to lay in bed with me today and read stories. We read Autumn Story , amongst a few others.
And every chance I get I am reading Katherine (Thanks to my reader who recommended it!)
I did make it outside this afternoon (although these pictures were actually taken a couple of days ago when it wasn’t raining.)
The kids and I grabbed umbrellas and boots and spent about half an hour out in the rain. The air smelled so clean and fresh and good and I wished I could just live outside, far far away from the smell of food.
Tomorrow is Seth’s birthday, and I finished his sweater this morning. So, this evening it was time to get ready for my next projects.
Yarn winding is a favorite activity with my kids, but I was actually trying to do it quickly and secretly this evening.
We have finally decided to let our children watch the original three Star Wars movies thinking they are old enough now that we won’t have to deal with obsession and pleas for toy lightsabers (we watch on computer because we don’t have a television), and everyone was engrossed on the couch. Everyone but Beatrix of course who only lasted a few moments as she doesn’t even know how to watch t.v. Yes, I know, she’s too little for Star Wars anyway. She soon ended up in my lap, helping.
Can you tell which ball I had help with??
p.s. I’ve updated my reading list. Did you know that another of Elsa Beskow’s books has been re-released?
