“They have finally started playing together, and that’s mostly a good thing.”

Summer days seem to equal lots of messes, laundry, goodness, and happiness all rolled into one, each day packed to the limit. Anyway, it’s ten p.m. and my kids are only just now getting tucked into bed after a full day. Today we had just started working on a project outside when a storm struck and we had to quickly clean up our supplies and run inside.
Larkspur is terrified of storms, but luckily a box of thrifted books arrived today, a gift from my sister that served to distract her from her fears.
We all looked through our “new” books and then waited the storm out, snuggled together on the couch while I read a few chapters from The Secret Garden.
As soon as the thunder and lightening stopped, we all poured back outside. I picked basil and blackberries for dinner, and the kids finished up their project.
Even Bea was able to help with this one.
After such a dry spell, I am so grateful for these summer storms!
Everything is still a bit crispy around the edges, but looking better already!
The chickens love these summer storms that bring lots of worms to the surface.
And my favorite book from the box? The Kate Greenway of course, full of lovely Summery poems.
The perfect summer poem for my blue eyed girlies!
***I really can’t thank you all enough for all the wonderful comments on my last post. I know that there are so many different opinions out there when it comes to breastfeeding and weaning, and I appreciate so much that you all have been so encouraging with your words, whatever your opinion. Thank you!
