Trudy the dirty dog, strange spots, prettiness, (and the giveaway winner)

Trudy likes to play in the mud.  She also enjoys kiddie pools, puddles, and leaky hose connections.
I’ve never had a dog get so dirty, every single day.
I stay calm about it, despite the fact that we have to bathe her constantly since her favorite spot to relax after a good romp is our couch.  It is possible that I have such a laid back attitude about all the bathing because Jonny usually does it.
Trudy will only be a puppy for a short while, and we want her to have a good puppyhood so she won’t require therapy and Prozac later in life.
And just like I do when my kids make a huge mess, rather than make a fuss about it, I just grab my camera.
Larkspur has been covered by horrible itching hives since Saturday.  This is the strangest “illness” ever; I have never seen anything like it.  I took her to the pediatrician on Monday and the theory is that these are related to a (mysterious) virus, and are just her body’s unique reaction to that virus.  The hives are the worst in the morning, gradually spreading all over her body, becoming raised and ugly, and then receeding by evening.  I hope that they clear up soon for Lark’s sake.  We have discussed the fact that at least the spots are pink, her favorite color.  While the doctor said that this isn’t contagious, I am still going to blame it on that drunk lady, as I will any other illnesses that may strike my family over the next few months.
Some prettiness.
And here’s the other prettiness:  Our much loved by the hummingbirds trumpet creeper is blooming.  I know this stuff grows wild all over the place, but mine is special.  I bought it at our local farm store to grow on the pergola over our back patio years ago, because it was supposed to be yellow.  It is more of an apricot color, and that is fine with me.
And the winner of the Princess in the Forest giveaway, via random number generator, is commenter number six, Eve!  Happy crafting!
I’ll see ya’ll next week.  Have a great weekend!
