Thankful

Sometimes, when I get myself worked into a bit of a funk, all it takes is looking through the pictures of my week to remember that I have so much to be thankful for (and I better snap out of it!):
There was time found to bake bread this week
The advent of local corn season
A sweet little helper, with a wonderful tool, taking care of one of my least favorite jobs
Making preparations for a special boy’s birthday celebration
The end of my subscription to the most overwhelming magazine ever
There is nothing simple about this encyclopedia of good ideas that has arrived every month for the past year.  I am three issues behind, and it stresses me to think that I must look through them to make sure I haven’t missed any of those good ideas, before tossing them in the recycling bin.
This beautiful, sweet smelling, locally made beeswax candle sitting atop my latest read,  The Weir, a book I inherited from someone I loved
Sharing the joy of summer watermelon with my chickens
Planning the sweet winter dresses I am going to sew with this fabric (and hoping it all works out as I plan)
A pleasantly uneventful trip to the library with all of my children, including this little shelf emptier
Finding four skeins of beautiful, soft, cotton yarn, at a local store, at a heavily discounted price
Just what I needed to get myself knitting again
Wool just hasn’t been calling my name on these hot days.
Two boys who think the yarn swift is the coolest thing ever
I have to agree with them!
Oh, and while I don’t have any pictures to prove it, I washed the sheets on every bed in the house this afternoon.  Clean sheets are definitely something to be thankful for!
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and a happy Father’s Day full of good things to be thankful for!
