New Mexico

Taking photos was not in the front of my mind during this trip of course, but I did take a few.
This is the view from my dad’s front yard.  The mountain in the background is Mt. Taylor.
Jonny told me not to let Beatrix get bitten by a rattlesnake :), and she has really fair skin, so she didn’t get to spend very much time outdoors.
She liked the rocks everywhere though, and kept putting them in her ears for some reason.
These little yellow flowers were blooming everywhere.
Beatrix warmed up to my brother Dan, and even started calling him by his name which was pretty cute.  She and I rode around with Dan quite a bit, and he was such a good sport, playing bluegrass music for Beatrix, even though it’s not quite his cup of tea.
But, it didn’t take her long to reach for me again.
Beatrix played with my sister Sarah’s boys (who are both so adorable.)  Here she was feeding little William trail mix.  I slept at Sarah and her husband Jim’s house the whole week and got to spend lots of time with my sis and her boys.  Sarah is expecting her first baby girl first of October.  I hope to be able to fly out for that!
This was a few minutes before boarding our flight to come home.  Bea got a rare treat:  chocolate milk.
She’s pretty zoned out here, drinking that milk.  She really liked it!
It was hard to say goodbye, but hopefully we will all be traveling back to New Mexico in a couple of months as a family.  I miss everyone already, and it is so hard to be this far away right now.
Oh, and I am pretty hooked on green chile!
