Joining Soulemama, sharing a special moment from our week.
In addition, I am doing something a little out of the ordinary by joining Steffany today, trying to help raise money for a cause that is close to my heart. As a family, we obviously have a close tie to Africa. As a mother, I have a connection, as you do as well, to other mothers all over the world. In East Africa, one in eleven women die of pregnancy related causes EVERY SINGLE DAY. Right now, Steffany is raising money to build a holistic maternity and infant development clinic in Ethiopia. Her goal is to raise one quarter of the funds needed by Mother’s Day, or 5,000 dollars. What Steffany asks is that each of us donate ten dollars on each of the two Fridays left before Mother’s Day. Of course if you are so inclined, you could donate less, or more. But please give, and help make this clinic a reality. Steffany is hosting a giveaway today (both an Ipod nano and a custom watercolor portrait of your family) for anyone who donates, so if you do make a donation, leave a comment on her latest blog post to be entered!
When Steffany traveled to Ethiopia to adopt her twin boy and girl, she met a pregnant woman desperate for prenatal care and unable to receive the care she needed in Ethiopia. Steffany did what was necessary to get her to America, invited her to live with her, paid for her prenatal care, and literally saved her life and the life of her unborn child. Due to complications with her birth, this woman would have died were it not for Steffany. Thanks to Steffany, she is back in Ethiopia, and has a beautiful healthy daughter. I share this so that you know that Steffany is the real deal. Please help her today to get closer to her goal, Because Every Mother Matters.

Thank you for helping!!!
